Ross, I personally know the bloke in the above article... I think there's a good chance you'll be reimbursed for the cost of an alloy but you're going to have to dig your camera out and submit quite a lot of evidence.
No luck Ross These alloys are pretty expensive, and like hens teeth as you will have seen!
Hope you get it sorted asap.
P.s. You're not getting one of mine
Good news, took the alloy into a place that specialises specifically in the reshaping of alloy wheels and they said it will go back into shape no prob. The first place i took it to were more cosmetic rather than strucural repairers so these guys know what they are talking about. Going to cost about £35 which i am still going to claim back (even though it's not much money) because the council must be aware of the pothole as they have had it filled in now.
Today I hit a pothole as i was coming into the company car park in one of the company cars (Seat Leon) and the knock set of the seatbelt pretensioners causing the belts to pull me and the passenger in really tight, engine to cut out, hazard lights to come on and the airbag light to come on the dash. Was not a very nice experience i must say to have to go and tell the boss that i had damaged the car It had to be towed away because it is not legal to drive the car as the seatbelts won't reel back in. Hopefully it won't cost too much to put right. Nightmare.
