Well thought it was about time i updated this - I still haven't found a job (didn't
help that the water pump decided to give up on me and no job mean't the car was off the road for nearly 3 months) well last week at the bargain price of £270 i had the cambelt, tensioner, and water pump changed and now all is well with my motor. That is except for the pipe i broke whilst replacing the thermostat. A quick post on here and it was revealed that the pipe i broke is actually a vacum pipe going to the N249. hence no dump valve action + turbo flutter and a generally unhappy motor.
Sooo this morning i got out of bed and straight on ebay to order the bits for the N249 bypass they should be here tomorrow so if all goes well i will post the results of how it all went. After ordering the parts i decided to also purchase some paint for the engine (which is in desperate need of a clean) white, metalic blue and black heat resistant paint white is for the engine rocker cover - blue is to have CUPRA put onto the slope on the right side of the engine and black is for my itake manifold - not sure when i'm going to do this but it is on the list and will post after it is finished.
After doing this i decided to smooth and drill the standard airbox drilled about 30 holes and it sounds a little meatier so going to drill loads more tomorrow i have drilled all underneath at the moment is it ok to drill the side (near the wing) and the rear of the airbox?
and thought i would post a pic of what it currently looks like.
One other thing guys i am thinking of running the cold air feed to the front of the car and actually having an inlet in the grill is there any pros or cons to doing this and what do you think of having it here as i don't want to lose a fog light.
