Logs look good to me too, as Willie said the slightly high corrections at high revs have gone, spark plugs will have sorted that out. Actual boost seems to be meeting requested as near as makes no odds so turbo looks to be behaving well. Only thing I can see is that the airflow (g/s) seems to dip a little at 3000rpm. Probably nothing to worry about but check your airbox is secured properly and the MAF is on snug. Might just be that you hit a bump at that point, small shocks can skew the readings (bloody crap roads).

Get down to the rollers on Sat, RobDon has dropped out so I'm the only Mk1 Leon going on I think! Just me and Dav from here going as far as I know.

Chees Niall, I will look into the airbox and MAF. Im geting rid of the airbox in next few weeks hopefully so I hope what I replace it with will improve the airflow.

All is healthy so Im happy :)

Well as some of you know, my car isn't in the best of conditions. I could have got a far better condition one, but possibly without the extras and low miles. My choice was to get a mechanically sound Cupra R and make it perfect condition wise.

So I gave it a good clean so that I could head to my bodyshop of choice to get their opinion.

The result is that about 80% of the car will be getting resprayed, but still in two minds as to bite the bullet and get a full respray. It goes in on 23rd April to have the work I want done.

Managed to get a great deal on these, can you guess what they are :p

I really hope I can make this LCR as stunning as I did with my old LC, I really miss the condion of it and can't wait to get this one as good, if not better (I hope!).

I think you are overly critical of the condition of your car young Kat. Having seen it and been in it myself, I think your perfectionist personality sees more faults than anyone else would

Main thing is you do what it takes to make you happy with it though :)

But, if you have any imperfections your better to get these sorted out all at the same time.
I wouldn't suggest a respray as I don't think aftermarket paint is as good as OEM paint.
Any stone chips get these sorted.
If you want come round and I'll whip off your skirt, the side ones LOL, and the wheel arch liners and check these areas too.
Also take a good look at the body work/roof above the windscreen as this takes a beating too.

The paint used on my LC was pretty good, so it will be the same again. Sadly theres no option but to respray bumpers, otherwise I would be leaving them. Stone chips are being done, dont worry. Cheeky! The skirts are in a very reasonable condition with no paint flaking off the arches, which happens a lot on these cars. The roof isn't being done but the two strips along top of doors are.

x2. Original paint finish is always better.

The bodyshop I use do an amazing job of blending in the red so will only get what needs done. Hopefully it won't be obvious its been resprayed.

Looking good there girl!

I know its kind of an old topic, but how well did your dehumidifier dry out the inside of the car?

Thanks :)

It worked really well, I left it in for a whole day and there was a good half pint of water came out. I did however keep opening the doors for a while to save the car heating up. Other than that it worked a treat, and now it doesn't gum up much at all.

If your going to do it kat i would do the lot. Im not doubting your body shops skills. but red is a very hard colour to match especially when its been on the car for 6 years or so. in certain light conditoins you may see a difference.

Thoses S3 cover are a real pain in the ass to fit properly, Firstly you'll need a 5.5L washer bottle from the S3, which is an even bigger pain in the ass to fit, you'll then need the top bracket Part No 8NO-103-946-A, Then once you've got it on you'll have a big gap where it does'nt meet the front slam panel

:lol:Yeah, thats my only concern. I had the bonnet and front wing done on my old LC which was the same age and they did a great job, I never seen a difference even in pictures. Oh decisions!

Thanks for the pics D.K :)

Iv got the washer bottle and the top bracket. My brother is an Audi Technician so he will be fitting it for me :funk:

Still, think it's worth the hassle as think it makes the bay look so much cleaner and fresher.

Thanks DOLBY. I like a challenge! I certainly think I will appreciate far more after it's finished, compared to buying one thats in good condition.

Hmmm... Saldy I love them too much! :p

I can easily take a look at yours.

It would just involve;

- slacken off both near side wheels

- jack front and back up and sit on axle stands

- remove both wheels

- remove side skirt, clean behind it and inspect

I would suggest removing the wheel arch liners, cleaning and inspecting behind there too, no

I would guarantee that the rear wheel arch area will have rusty spots as there are sections not covered by the wheel arch liner and not coated in underseal either.

All going well this would take about 2 hrs each side to check over, clean and see what's what.

Mine I'm nae cheap ;)

If that bire is still free we could do it in there if you have a decent light we can use for inspection.
