It looks like the best way to access the bulbs is to remove the headlamp units !! cos the access panels were made for v little hands !! [ lots of little attachments in and around the access panels] does any one have a better solution??

I changed all 4 lamps to Osram Nightbreakers. When it came to trade the Exeo in, i tried to take them out, but i gave up! Keep on trying, or find someone with small hands!

Yes I'm in same situation I removed all HID/LEDs from the Leon I had, expecting to put them in the EXEO but it looks like I might have to see if it is simples to remove the headlamp units !?@! - when the weather improves though. ............................

Just replaced the orange indicator bulbs for some DIADEM style ones - they light up orange, but look clear/bluish when off. Bit of a fiddle and can confirm the need for small hands.

Still on the hunt for a LED DRL replacement.

Pardon my ignorance, but can I ask, what is "DRL".... Or am I being a tool?

So am I , but surely to do that you would need all or part of the xenon pack loom?? is the wiring /take off point's already there then?

I mate of mine is an Audi mechanic, and reckons you just need to find some bulbs with the same power draw as the bulbs you have. You can get bulbs with resistors in - or add resistors yourself, to 'fake' being the correct bulbs, so that the CAN-BUS doesn't mistake it for a bulb fault due to a voltage drop.

He's meant to be looking into it for me, so as soon as I get more details, I'll let you know.

I already use "can bus " loaded LED's and have done since I had my Leon 1P, but is the curcuit still there then so you can run DRL ??, which would be very useful [ I wondering has the EXEO headlight has two side lights per head light if one of the side lights can be change has a DRL!!]

Not sure I can comment on this, as my Exeo already has DRL wiring etc. I'm just looking to replace the bulbs with something better.

Does your DRL's light up within the headlight or are they within the fog light assy ??

They are completely separate bulbs, and given they are 21 Watt, they're probably the same as a brake-light bulb. They are within the headlight unit itself, on the very outer corners of the unit, near - but above - the smaller sidelight bulb. It's a little hard to see them as the lens has a patterned surface here. There is a little switch on the dash next to the lights that pop's up when pushed so you can turn them on.

Swapped over my indicators for Diadems too... Was very wary given some of the posts here, but to be honest it was no bother at all... Having said that I have a 2.0 TSI, is there less space in the diesel engine bay?

Not seen a petrol variant, but the engine bay looks quite tight on mine round the front of the engine.

The DRL's have a P21W (Ba15s) fitting.
I replaced them recently for LEDs from Benzinfabrik.de.
Here's a Google translation from me about my DRL's: Link

If I am correct the sideblinkers have a T10 fitting.

If you have xenon lamps you might want to replace the sidelights too. The standard bulbs add a yellow glow to the white xenon light. I swapped them for T10 canbus LEDs:
