Ape's LCR225 Thread (Getting Back on the Road)

I've been a tw*t and spent more money

This time on nothing performance related

A glovebox liner so I can remove the standard 6CD Changer that lives in there doing nothing
A box of gadgets so I can fool the stereo into thinking my iPod is the CD Changer
Associated wiring so I no longer have to use a FM transmitter to listen to my music. Only downside is - it won't charge my iPod so I'll need to sort an in car charger for it and hardwire that in too.

I guess it is performance related, removing the weight of the changer

Purchase plans for the year (after the Solicitors stop pulling my pants down):

Wavetrac Differential
New Seats & Harnesses
Oil Cooler
Battery Relocation Kit

That'll do for it really for now

I'm after doing this mate, how does it work?

I don't have the changer and was looking at options.

I was looking it up on here and "Connects2" was mentioned. Got it from Dynamic Sounds as they were cheapest (cheaper than eBay too). The liner etc is coming from Dave @ Sere Motors :D Seems to just plug and play. I'll be routing the wiring through the dash to keep things neat, and I'll do the same with an iPod charger too (wire into the cigarette feed).

That's not being a tw*t that's constructively spending your money ;)

Not wrong there Willie

£650 (?) for the wavetrac, plus some fitting money too as I'd not want to tackle it myself
£650 (?) per seat and frame, £300 for harnesses
£200 for oil cooler kit
£200 for battery location gubbins

If I keep working away from home for the year it'll be easy enough. If I don't then I'll have to think of other ways to raise the moolah!

Bairn, it's always like a little bit of Christmas when new bits arrive!
