i kind of like all the retro stuff on the car, just wouldnt look right without it mate, anymore plans?

Been a while since the last one, lol.

haha yeah I've been slacking, just had a read back to see what is on here and what isn't.

There's not really a whole lot that's gone on but I will post what I have pics of.

Here goes:

In errrr October? my NEW Powerflex bushes looked like this:

Nice eh? Apparently the cuff around the edge is not used on other makes of bushes so even though Powerflex offered me new ones I thought the same thing would happen again so I got some different ones. No pics of those I'm afraid but they're not very pretty anyway.

The next thing I did was finally after months of peer pressure sort out the pinstriping - which looked like this:

and now looks like this:

Since I had been using my stock alloys during the winter I decided to give the centre caps a bit of a refurb. As you can see they needed it!

This is them after some nitromors, some scrubbing and some primer:

I dont have a finished pic of them after the silver, the clear coat and on the car.

So next I bought a new spoiler off ebay:

Which made this happen:

And now you're up to date...

an almost rat look, oil barrels on the roof next time :)

Wash your mouth out! Rat look my left ball.

How about a bike instead?

So I thought I should give this a little update since I gave the car a wash on Thursday before heading out to the 8ball Diner for the RR East meet.

Yes, that's right, I washed the car. Well not me, some foreign folks at the car wash. Definitely worthy of an update.

I've also put the old square AA badge on (because I think it looks more at home than the older style jobbie) and fitted a new headunit which the missus procured for my birthday, which was jolly nice of the old girl if you ask me. It's an Alpine and you can put USB sticks in it, brilliant when you drive a car with a not-so-smooth ride since it wont skip. I don't want to sound like a tart but the green fascia matches the rest of the interior too.

In addition to this I decided to paint the writing on my tyres white. Bit of a marmite decision probably but I think it looks cool because I'm a big child.

So I took some pictures today, here's how she looks:

So next up I'm ordering some new Parade stickers because I'm missing the one off the passenger side and I'm toying with the idea of getting Maz (Jonjay) to give it a proper detailing. We will see how far the funds stretch.

Really liking this... ;)

thanks dude!

Minor update from two weeks ago:

My carb flange gasket was completely shot and was letting air in quite badly. I thought it was going to be a 30 min job but was proven wrong on several counts. I had a brand new part but for some reason there were bolts needing cut down, original parts that had been bonded together and just the general PITA that is access to the bolts under the inlet manifold. Anyway, got this done after a while but since my phone went dead I only have a pic of the old one next to the new one. You cant really tell how bad the old one was from the pic.

Once that was done I managed to fix an exhaust rattle - it was getting pretty bad so that was nice to sort.

Picked up a custom fabbed brace bar which just fits next to the ARB blocks (not a great pic and the underside of my car looks a bit tatty but you get the idea).

Also got a new cam cover, my standard one needs sandblasting and powdercoating and the chrome one I picked up has rusted in parts during the winter so for the price of a refurb on either one I figure I'd pick up a new (old) aluminium one. [/justification]

moar pics to follow [B)]

Bodgetastic update:

Had a bit of a play yesterday where I cleaned the engine bay, allbeit not very well, sorted out my crappy ghetto cold air feed and rather excitingly put a new sticker on (it's the little things).

First I took the old air feed out and put it in the bin (wasn't long enough). Managed to find some longer ducting off my old LCR, opened the end of it up as much as possible and quite appropriately used duct tape (see what I did there) to attach it to the old bit of drainpipe I call an air feed. Once it was hanging out from under the front valance I trimmed it to the right length and applied a rather tongue in cheek K&N sticker (i'm sure I'll take it off soon just in case someone takes it seriously)...

Here you can see the new brace bar too

Classy K&N Barry sticker - doesn't look at all bodged.

And the most exciting bit - took off my old rear window sticker (notice the scabby chrome cam cover due for replacement next week).

And put a new one on

Total money spent £0

Next installment should contain aluminium rocker coverey goodness. [B)]
