Got around to fitting the S3 brace today.
It took a few hours as I didnt want to rush it.
I first enlisted the some
help to hold the bonnet whilst the gas strut was removed. I trial fitted the brace and marked off were I would need to drill. I used a 2mm drill bit to make the pilot holes then a 10mm drill bit for the holes. The holes were then coated with anti rust primer. Whilst this was drying I took about a 5mm deep groove out of the right side of the brace to allow room for the gas strut.
When it came to fitting I jacked up the front of the car for easier access to the underside of the turrets. I used 6x m10x25mm bolts to secure the brace, lowered the car then went for a test drive.
I found the most difficult part was re-attaching the jack point covers
I wasnt expecting much improvement from the brace although after the drive i have to admit the car turns in alot better now!
the only
problem I have is the body roll but I'll hopefully be ordering my front and rear arbs at the end of the month
I also fitted one other performance enhancing mod this weekend
