Yes so if you wire it up so the feed wire for the headlights from the car loom is powering a relay instead of the ballast directly, does the sensor not pick up that it's a lower current because the current used to power the relay is the same as powering a normal halogen bulb?

I would say the way he has wired them up, the go straight from the battery, powering the relay to turn the lights on but bypasses the sensor for the bulbs, until we know how it's done, I can't be too sure! haha

Surly you can't bypass the ballast? You need the ballast to power the bulb otherwise they would sell HID bulbs on there own with OEM fitment for OEM connectors and never sell ballasts.

I will probably jinx it after this post but...

I fitted These to my HID kit last week and still had the error's on the MFD. I cleaered all the error codes with VAGCOM on Wednesday and touch wood i haven't had any problems since. May just be a coincedence, i'll hold off swapping my ballasts and i'll see after the weekend!

They worked like a dream with the ignition on mate, as soon as I turn the engine on, that's when it seems to do the checks and then the warning light comes up and they power off :(

Yeah that's what i meant mate sorry, when you turn the engine on. That's what mine was like, right bulb check, left bulb check, police flashing HID's!

Touch wood but mine are still ok  I'm expecting the light soon though

I never got around to swapping for the Canbus pro kit. I still have the problems, I turn my lights off for a few seconds then back on and it sorts it.

I'd recommend removing the warning cancellor, I did what you're doing Sean on mine and it made one of the ballasts fail. If you remove it the lights stay on but you just get a warning light.
