Someone answer me this seeing as we're on the topic of snow/winter and I don't want to start a new thread.

What would be better in the snow/ice?
16" alloys with 195/45/16 tyres
or
13" steels with 145/80/13 tyres?

Well you don't really want salt and grit on your alloys ;)

Yeahhhh, they're off :)
The wheels were absolutely filthy, but still shiney underneath, I love Poorboys wheel seatlent :D

you want a small area on the road so the steels would be ideal.

I've been driving around today, fun and a lot more controlable I've noticed :)

Get some winter tyres for the 13's for the best winter performance.

I would but can't justify spending more money when I can be using that for a new car :p

Here is my first attempt at a photoshop of my car.

I didnt use photoshop, I used GIMP (Graphical (?) Image Manipulation Programme). Quite happy with my first attempt.

Can anyone suggest the best way to change the colour of the wheels and blending in paintwork??

I.E - where the rear lock and wiper should be and the swage line on the rear. You can sort of see the outline where I have covered them.

Hey Im New To This , I Have A Mk2 Seat Ibiza In Yellow , Its Lowered 50mm On Black 17'' , Are The Front Wings Bolt Off Or Are They Spot Welded On .....? Also Could You Tell Me Ways To Increase the Performance as it is only a 1.4 , e.g panel filter, exhaust ect

Nice photoshop Craig! Don't know about Gimp, but Photoshop has this 'healing brush tool' in which you can sample part of your image with Alt, and copy the pixels-color difference by clicking... You might be able to use that for the boot lock and wiper. For the wheels there's a color replacement tool, but I don't think it works well if the old color is grey(or black/white) since it only works on colors to other colors... Might be able to use quick selection tool to select the entire wheel, and then (with anti aliasing enabled) use the brush to color them?...

@Jamie: No idea mate on the engine, give it a good service(new spark plugs etc) and it'll at least last longer and since that'll make the car happy, it'll also make it 1mph faster jk...
But as far as I know the wings are either bolt + spot weld or only bolts, since I know at least the top has bolts in it...

Almost forgot:
Pic whoring time...
(Somehow, even though it's just ice and snow, I think the matte white/red roof looks kinda funny :p

Welcome mate

They're bolted in
As mythbuster said, a good service, a drilled air box and a decent exhaust, make it sound a but meatier

Thats about it though tbh
