If you can wait until tomorrow I can try get a picture of mine if you want? Might not be much better than that picture though as they are on the car

Thanks I'll try the below, save you farting about tryin to get a pic lol

Hi mate. to be honest I can`t remember if I marked them correctly!
I think both wires coming from the car were black, and those are the ballast wires with the clear plastic ends on.

Either way you won`t blow anything if you connect them the other way, they just won`t work. I`ve fitted a few hid kits and 50% of the time I get the wires the wrong way round because they are rarely logically coloured!

sounds like a plan. I was just worried cos the instructions clearly say something could explode. I know these things use a high voltage so thought I'd ask

Voltage your wiring up is only 12v though so nothing really high

You're right, i had that thought this morning aswell.

I read the instructions again and they're on about a decoder blowing up  pretty sure theres no decoder. I'll just put it down to crap instructions!

Just put mine in took about less than 10min per side. Just sittin in the car lettin then burn in, as per instructions. I plugged the positive in same as neo's pic and the worked 1st time.

Is the ballast meant to be visible from the outside? !

Do you have to wire HID's to the battery??

No mate (not on my car any way) not now days. I think when they 1st came out folk used a harness for extra protection and peace of mind.

I just did mine too, did a trial run before fitting the bulb to see they were wired correctly, although I first forgot that the lights dont work with ignition off. Oops

Mines arent visible from the outside. Well, unless you know they are there, press your face against and light unit and look very closely - you cant see them.

Ive got black slim ballasts, and I took all the stickers off them too. So they are black behind the black FR headlights...

Mine aren't visible, didnt take off the stickers either if it makes much difference
I might see about getting brighter bulbs with a slight blue tint for main beam, looks so yellow compared to the 6k hid although i know they wont be seen i know its there!
Much easier and neater getting slim ballasts and fitting them in the headlights. How hot do the ballasts get out of interest for heat inside the headlight? Might keep the condensation out too!

Bear in kind if you put HIDs into the main beam you will damage them when you flash people. They need time to warm up, so flashing them will seriously reduce their life.

The ballasts dont get too warm, you are still able to lift them out and hold them put it that way. Mine have been in for nearly a year with no problems. Still get a little condensation when I wash the car but none apart from that.

Wouldnt put in hid's, just some brighter bulbs from halfords probably. Saying that, dont want to go take out the ballasts and wiring unless i have to now their all stowed away. There will be a few nice words being said if one of my led sidelights go though. Pass side was easier mind you

That`s why I thought black ballasts when I planned it. You have to know they are there to see them really. [B)]

Looks nice Taz, they look like decent h7R`s... some of them are rubbish.

And you need to do something about those sidelights!

TazB could you please upload a picture of your car against a wall or something.
I'm thinkig of getting bulbs from the same user from ebay but I'm not sure about H7R's or H7.

Currently I have H7R's 4300k from hids-direct.co.uk and my light output is terrible.

I can't post pictures (You are only allowed to post URLs to other sites after you have made 15 posts or more.)

Definitely get H7Rs. Less likely to get pulled for glare, and give a much better light pattern.

I got mine from HIDs4u; great quality, 2 year guarantee, and don't need wiring to the battery :)

H7Rs are what you want...

I guess that only the HIDS4U H7R bulbs give the correct beam pattern and buying other H7R's is just trying to save some money and in the end paying more for fake H7R bulbs.
Thank you guys

Does it make any difference to the pattern in having the metal thing inside the headlight?
Cause I don't want to remove it
