what size would you say to use 8mm and how far shall I drill the hole dont want it so short if you know what I mean

yea but is that gonna make it a bit too short and nothcy ? would I be better off removing the rivet and bringing it slightly closer

guys need some help with this, removed shifter drilled hole and put the bolt on, problem is when i go to put the shifter back on i cant get it back on. my question is does it slide into the grooved pin easily or does it require some force?

Line it up and tap it gently or the nut should pull it down
Came of easy enough?
The head of the bolt you used isn't catching on anything is it?
