why would you need a 5th wheel granted the spare will be smaller but okay for temporary I had to use a 16 for 2 weeks while my wheel was repaired. I like them wheel above too really different.

The Fabia comes as standard with 16" wheels. In the boot there is a full sized steel wheel with the same sized tyre fitted (205/45 16). However strangely there is a sticker on it limiting you to 50mph (80kph) even though it has a W rated tyre on it. The only difference is it's a steel wheel (same size and offset) not an alloy and has a non-directional tyre on it, (mine's a Michelin Pilot Primacy). There has been many discussions on this, but I don't thing a definitive answer has been found yet.

Do Ibizas have the same problem with a sticker?

If you do buy 5 bigger alloys, remember the spare has to have a non-directional type tyre (i.e. can fit both sides of the car).

No sticker but same wheel black steel wheel same size and same tyre for me. I had the 17s vRS spiders on when I had the spare on (put hole destroyed one!) for a couple of weeks. I asked lots of people if it was onkay to fit it they said yes just may put the speedo out a bit and I hardly used the car. I do actually have a spare vRS one but has the original barley legal and too fat to fit on the car tyre lol!

dont understand that, my understanding , your dad has those no claims, you dont, you get no claims for not claiming on YOUR policy, as you being 18 those were not your policys hense not your no claims, they belong to your dad, so next year your dad will be at 5 years NCB and you will be at 1. if your policy does named driver discounts. you cant get no claimed discounts when you cant drive, simple.

as for my insurance im around £1070 but because i pay monthly with interest it works out like £1200

well thats because a vRS is a 1.9Tdi, and a 1.4 is a lower powered engine with a lower insurance group. it will be your age and inexperience going against you, i have been driving 3 years, 2 years NCB and am 20, insurance is ok for that power of engine, tbh no claims bonuses dont do a massve lot for you untill you get to 21 i think, im hoping my insurance will drop a a good deal next year.

The reality is that when you're old enough to get the age related discounts, the base prices will have gone up so much year on year that you'll be no better off in terms of hard cash, but you'll hopefully be earning more so its less of a burden. Then you get married and you're screwed financially anyhow until you're in your 30's. All 3 of my cars were cheaper to insure with "and spouse" ticked. Guess they see you as old, sensible and settled.

Ouch :-o That's a lot!

I'm not going to tell you what I pay for mine. ;) Although it's about double what my dad pays on his Impreza Turbo.

Nice looking car there Scott nice and clean. Get a remap and lowered first when you have the money. You wont be disappointed with these 2 upgrades then just work away on the rest of your list.

looking good mate, how does the sparkle show up in the light?

got a different style of silver spakle from yours, more like my old alloys on the ibiza but instead of titaniam its silver, but not as much, yeh it shows up well.

Not a fan on the alloys , I thought you would have got new ones all together by now

there just the standard alloys mate, and im undecided if im gonna mod this car. i will get xenons etc but i mean big mods. might keep these alloys because i like them. i dont want to have to declare mods, time will tell but for now its staying "standard"
