yeah keep the suggestions coming guys, il work on them later,

and to answer your question ^ concept sketches and rough drafts never look like rear cars until its 3D model'd on the computer.
eg. the concept sketch of bocenegra
Seat-Bocanegra-Concept-sketch-1.jpg

i will produce final development sketches that would include all proportions correct

these are rough drafts to get the feel of the car, then development stages will include all dimensions on the car, pillars, lights, grille etc etc, rendered on 3D software then create effects and environment that would make the car look real. its an 8 week project

change of plan, i decided to go for a roadster/coupe style after a few drawings, also found that too many people in my class are doing hatchs, no ones doing a roadster yet..

so heres the firs tthing that came into my mind and i put it on paper

roadster.jpg

thoughts? stick with the sporthatch or go with a coupe/roadster?

Well first of all I voted for design 3 but now you've gone with a roadster I guess the poll is dead!

Personally I think roadsters (and hot hatches) should look mean and hard!! Which initial sketches of design 3 did but when you start to colour 'em in it always sways opinion.

I think a big upper and lower grille on these is a necessity to aid cooling

Might stuggle with a roadster that doesnt end up looking like a TT or a mini R8 though or rocco type R for that fact.

However, love the work, great ideas.

subtle flaired arches might do the trick also.

LED lights seem the craze so put them in too :)

Rear end I like the single K1 centre exhaust, but dual twin pipes seem populat these days too

Would choose 2, really like the bottom end of the front bumper.

The roadster reminds me of the mazda furai, or audi R8
Does look the dogs :censored: Though

Very good!

thanks for that, great advice seen as though ive been drawing miniature R8s.. its hard not to though if you look at the new citroen concept that looks like a mini Bugatti veyron, the new pug RCZ has the influences of an TT/R8 style.
this also applies on new hatchcoupe cars such as the astra and meganne, all which have similar profile just different lights and creases but the overall shape is the same. back in the day everything looked like a square box!
and no the poll is not dead haha, the face of the car is still the same just appllied on a different body so the poll is all goood.
Seats is famous for its strong lines and creases, applying these flowing lines on a coupe/roadster will end up with a curvier R8.. plus with seat being the little brother of the group audi influences are not something to be ruled out off, just not an exact same thing but made smaller.
a VW roadster concept has the same styling as the AUDI tt but with more squarer lights etc

The 1st one reminds me of the civic type r, the second isnt seat, and the 3rd and 4th look like something I could see a future seat looking like.

yeah the designs are meant to be for 2 years time, so it can be very radical, (As new cars are more getting more daring with new designs atm!) like the big faces of mazda and pugs, even the boca is literally the same as the concept version! theres literally no limit for 2 years time.

just is what do you guys wana see in 2 years time? what would you think would look appropriate? save the conservative designs for audi and VW, the seat brand image is about youth, not your OAPs.

this is VWs approach:

FWIW, me likey the above. Especially the way the subtler bonnet bulge integrates with the centre grille and the windscreen's height and angle :funk:

The creases in the side flanks are dramatic, but sweetly integrated and give the car that 'it looks as if it's moving fast even when standing still' feel. Also partial to the One-77-style 'cinched' rear wheelarch

However, IMHO the angle of the headlights relative to the height of the lower grille and the front wheelarches' bulge makes the front-end appear to be melting slightly and sliding down

Still, in essence it's a car that looks striking, purposeful yet stylish without being in yer face or art-for-art's-sake. Cool :)

thanks for the comments :)

people have voted for design 2 the most because it looks subtle and aggressive. thing is that design will more or less look outdated in 2 years time. dramatic flares and creases are the way forward it seems.

i am so glad you have pointed out '' 'it looks as if it's moving fast even when standing still' feel.'' this is exactly what i wanted to show, by looking at new cars and the way their designed i turned my head to FORDS ''kinetic Design, Visualising dynamic driving characteristics through external and internal design elements''

having you pointed that definatly shows am going somewhere! i have loads of designs at the moment and am working on something special i will update once i finalized a few ideas then put them on here and then choose the best. :D

right guys put the design in perspective and proportion now on the mk5 golf platform and wheel base

need to work on some more side angles before i can decide to do a final render in CAD and then making a foam model of it.
