You might find your OEM one is cracked TBH.
There are many potential causes for cracking, this is where the minefield starts.
Inclusions in the casting, imperfections, temperature extremes, movement etc

This is why i have a hard time believing it needs to be coated to stop cracking, the manifold is going to reach the same temps whether its coated or not, the coating just keep the heat in.

I could always DIY it.

K04 Hybrid and injectors arrived today, Pics part 1.

:clap::clap::funk::funk:

More goodies arrived to today. My Hybrid K04 from CR turbo and my Bosch green giant 440cc Injectors.

I have everything that i need now to get some serious power out of my LCR.

I have a guy lined up to fit all these but its looking like it could be a few weeks, i have no clue how i am gonna wait that long!!

BTW, the CR turbo is almost identical to the Turbo dynamics Stage 4 except i opted for a 9psi actuator.

Also has any one expierence with these Bosch injectors? According to ECS they are just a straight swap but they sent me some spacers for the fuel rail so i am kinda confused by this.

Pics below, not the best quality, but you get the picture, LOL pardon the pun.

Whooo hoo, thats some serious fire power your packing there fella. That set up is good for 330 hp no problem with your wmi and mani. i look forward to your progress. How much did you get the hybrid for and how long did the turn around take.

This has turned out to be a wicked project, I can't wait to see the outcome. Let's see this go well into the 300's :D

It was €1100 delivered, turn around was about 2 weeks since I ordered it, 4 days of that was delivery time as they sent it via road to Ireland instead of air, I am sure u could get it in the uk in a week, are u thinking of changing yours?

How many miles has your hybrid done so far as a matter of interest?

Thanks lad, I think 320 should be got for sure, I don't want to say anymore in case I'm disappointed

Looking good the race is on, ;-)

:D yeah I notice your being a bit cagey on your build thread alright:lol: how's it going for you, btw, I'm digging the sfs hoses. Let me know if you need any help with stuff, especially the wmi, could help you avoid some of the pit falls I made first time round

Have to agree with you there he is being a bit cagey:cartman: should rename his readers ride thread (the rebuild starts s l o w l y ). sure he'll get a move on soon.

will be good to see who can get the most out of these near enough identical set up's.:D

cagey lol whats that lol, and what where would you locate the wmi stuff and how long take you to set it up ? been a delay on engine as crank seal come and was wrong so trying to source correct part,

got a call diffs fitted so pick that up from stealth racing this weekend

manifold should be here any day i went for the coated one though,

Yeah i have a mapper lined up, he does the Brit car championships in the UK so he is good, unfortunately his dyno is a dyno dynamics which has the name of the ball breaker:lol: it very honest with its readings which can be bad sometimes. failing that its a trip over on the ferry to Bill.

How are you getting and what dyno do they have?

This is where i got the methanol, its a good grade too and fast delivery.
http://www.mistralni.co.uk/

The methanol injection kit took me about 5-6hrs all in, its really not that complicated once you start.

Things to note:

If you are using your washer bottle reservoir, make sure the WMI feed nozzle is lower than the low level sensor otherwise you could run out of methanol without knowing.

Make sure the pump is lower that the reservoir, its gravity feed so route your pipework under the crash bar not above it.

You will need a mounting bracket for the WMI pump before your start, buy some flat stainless steel, 6x4 or just measure the connections on the back of the pump and drill holes as required.

I changed from the DV-30 stage to the stage 2 without the build in map, reason, the map sensor on the DV-30 means you need another boost tap from the mani to the controller in the car, i don't trust these and it makes the controller luck $hitty having a boost cable sticking out the side.
The Stage 2 with 2.5bar reading is a lot neater, just run a tap to the MAP sensor wiring into the bay, job done.

Buy some extra convoluted sleeves to cover the pipes, you will run out.

Don't buy extra mounting nozzles, i got 3 for some reason, i am sure we can work something out.

Take all feeds from the connection box under the dash(must be fused 15amp) its a lot easier and neater than tapping into those stupid dimmer or light switch.

I thinks that’s it, there are probably other stuff but this will get you thinking about the job anyways.

Jebus, i shouldn;t be helping the competition :)

I think mine has done about 4000 miles with no problems at all. I'm happy with my hybrid at the moment but am always interested in upgrading routes available.

Rob how much do you think this Stage 2 to Hybrid conversion going to cost you? What BHP would you be aiming for WITHOUT WMI?

Thanks

TBO honest i haven't done up the figures, i am kinda afraid to  your looking at well over 2k though, BHP wise, i am not sure which dyno i am going to yet LOL.

Bit of an update, i was logging my IDC's the other night and my IPW's at 6440rpm were 21.8ms, thats a duty cycle of 116%, my injectors were maxed out to the hilt, so this forced me to install the new 440cc injectors early. The install was fine but anyone using the Bosch Green giant injectors make sure you have a spacer kit as the injectors are longer so the fuel rail needs to be raised.

I will drive it for a bit 30/40 miles and see how the ECu handles the fuel trims then out with the Lemmiwinks for some tweaking.

Still i am glad i spotted this.

Also all my new uprated hardware is going on next monday and she's being tuned next wednesday, I CANNOT WAIT, Yipheeeeeeeee

hi mate im wiring up water meth today and am i right in saying the pump gets a permenant live from the battery, and im guessing the blue wire from the controler to the pumps black turns the pump on, did you get a switch to go into your tank for when it gets low? and im guessing the pink goes to ignition on,

thanks

ps just read what you have said but posted this 1st :( and i will mount the reservoir higher then the pump.

and competitions good :)

and im guessing you took the green wire and connected that to the map sensor?

Thats spot on, the red from the pump(fused) goes to the battery, the black wire from the pump connects to the blue wire on the controller. The pink/red on the conrtolller goes to a switch live and the orange on the controller goes to a permanent live, these are the connections on the block under the drivers side dash and NEED TO BE FUSED

thanks

Yes the green wire goes to pin number 4 on the MAP sensor.

Which kit did you goes for as i thought the DV-30 stage 2 has a boost port for a direct tap into one of the boost lines. Also when its all hooked up get the multimeter out and check the volts from the map wire, otherwise it could mis-read the output.
Verify output wire with multi-meter. At idle the proper wire should be aprox 0.8-1.2 volts. With the ignition on and with the car not running 1.8-2.8.
