Right, just tried a quote.

Technically, in 2 weeks I'll have 1 years no claims bonus as I started it whilst I was on my provisional, however I've only held my licence for 5 months....and many online quotes don't let you have more NCB than time licence has been held, so I guess I'll need to call them up.

However, with 1 years NCB and holding the licence for the year, my quote was £1650 or so, and with no NCB and held licence for less than a year, quote was £3900 or so....

NCB only applies once you have your full licence, so techically you have 0 years NCB. How is your insurance so expensive, i have a more powerful car than yours and i paid £1030 with 0 years NCB, main driver fully comp and 3 point on my licence?

Well there ya go ;)

I've had mine for 5 months, and have a few mods :)

Will argue my case for my NCB, as I've held the policy for 1 year and have made no claims, and increased my premium payment once I passed, therefore should be open to 1 years no claims.

Hopefully my renewal will be £1.9k or so.

I'm with Aviva, on my mum's policy. She technically owns the car and covers about as many miles as I do in it so that's fair enough. Passed my test in May, no accidents, points etc. She has 4 years NCB and been driving for decades (again no accidents or points) and it's £1,200 per year.

On my own policy it would have been £2,600.

Hopefully when insurance comes for renewal (hopingly I'll have kept my nose clean so to speak), the insurance companies will bear in mind I've had a license for a year (won't have any NCB though) and will lower the premium.

They're all robbing bar stewards.
