update - booked practical test & also ordered some parts from SG-Petch, ordered Blue Xenon bulbs, aluminium gear surround & vents surround

When you say Blue Xenons, do you mean an HID kit, or standard bulbs but of higher power (whiter light)?

And I've been looking into getting the aluminium gear surround, only £13 or so, right? Much better than standard black plastic and the chrome version

Which vent surrounds you got mate?

It will look pretty fly soon, put some pics up when done

will do and yeah better light from SG Petch...will they fit the single reflector lights ok? just simple replace the bulbs yeah? and i got aluminium as i saw a car the other day with chrome and it looks too chavvy i thought...the aluminium looks 'classy'

putting the new air vent rings on should be easy....hopefully (aluminum too) just got to order the dial surrounds now and then a handbrake gaitor. and then the outside work shall begin

There are dial surrounds?! Perhaps you have a different interior section to me.....pics?

Which sort of vent rings? The same as mine (non OEM but thin aluminium rings that slot in place on top) or the entire 1/2" thick replacement surround for the black/grey plastic one?

Can't believe how much you guys pay on insurance, When i was your age i paid less for a 1.6. Was a Rover 216SI. I had a Fiesta XR2 for my first car. I have a 2007 Cupra 1.8 20VT now and only pay £590 fully comp SDP&C. Really do feel for ya, I think insurance is out of order, still it's like anything in this country, they rip us off! They wouldn't make millions if they wern't. I know a guy in his late 20's and he's only just done his test and he is getting quotes all over £2000 on small engined cars.
