Ape's LCR225 Thread (Getting Back on the Road)

So you had yours mapped....who cares......

Lucky sod, can't believe I couldn't have mine done, would of made the day even more enjoyable.

Good numbers them, but it feels so much faster now, really pulls strong! Shame it's pissing down outside :(

Hilla, get that heap of yours fixed and then get it mapped

I've been out tonight and it's suprised me (and a few other cars considered to be fast too)

George, I may do as and when he starts RR meets etc, but tbh I've got full confidence in Will @ Performance Torque's work and the difference it's made when driving has certainly made me one satisfied customer. I'll be going back when Hilla get's his mapped for a few more runs to make sure everything's as it should be. The graph printout I've got wasn't the best one of the day so I'll wait until I do have the best run next time and stick that one up for everyone.

I'm not doubting P Torque mate, and they have great reviews. I guess companies like Revo, APR and Jabba use their big names and great reputation to charge any prices they like.

I'll be going to either Revo, Jabba, P Torque or APR, but at this rate. It won't be fir ages yet!

Ape, your car is looking fantastic! Certainly has moved on a bit since I saw it at Ultimate Dubs in March.

With the map now done, do you imagine that you'll be doing any more track days? I've been following Robdon's thread recently too, who's just had a Revo stage 3 map done; again, impressive feedback given. Performance Torque certainly seems to be company that i would consider, particularly considering customer testimonials and pricing. I think George 3G has a point but I also think it's down to the driver's requirements. Most importantly, if you're happy with the feel of the car and the way you were treated by Performance Torque, then that should be what counts.

Enjoy the car's new performance and hopefully the weather will hold up for a while for you to enjoy it!

Cheers all.

I see you weren't knocking them George me old pal, I think as long as you've done your research and don't jump around tuners, choose one and stick with them, then you'll keep consistancy :)

James - I'll be doing Trax and Castle Combe in September, and will see if there are any more open pit days anywhere before the end of the year for a bit of a hoon :D

Do you have a graph at all??

Yep, but not of the best run of the day which got the 285bhp and 318lb ft, it was overwritten in the rush. I'm going back for more runs in the next week or two.

Pleased you are happy Adam.

Was very fast once finished!

After a hectic Saturday, I just about got home in time yo practice my best man speech one more time

I am mate, you've done a top job there bud, will put a post up in the P-Torque section later.

It's still fast now  :funk:

Good man!! How did it go?!

I don't think we need anyone checking the quality to be honest

We own 3 1.8T 20v's ourselves and race all 3 on the track.

Not to mention the ridiculous amount we tune every week alone ;)

When you turn up to a place like P-Torque and see the calibre of cars there, along with cars belonging to Racing Teams it does instill confidence in you that you've chosen the right guys to trust to do the work to your pride and joy. It's not the first time I've been to / past P-Torque and seen different cars belonging to Race Teams outside ready to have work done or waiting collection.

Nice results from the remap Ape.

So you've got an fmic, full blueflame with sports cat an 3" downpipe and what induction system are you running?

Must fly with that torque. Did you get a 4 bar fpr fitted for stage 2 or not bother?

I've got a K&N Cone Filter and Forge T.I.P. The filter / induction layout may change if/when I relocate the battery.

I didn't get the fpr, don't think there's a need to be honest.

The thing sure flies compared to before

Nice one. That just the standard induction kit they do for LCR? Do you have a cold air feed? Think as I've got the fmic, there's space now for me to run a nice cold feed upto an open cone.

It's just deciding on the open cone. Can't get the Jetex as it's a blue cone and all my hoses are red including my forge TIP

I've heard some people say get the 4 bar fpr but others don't. When I heard it from a Revo Technik rep that you don't need it, I kinda thought that's one less thing for stage 2!

I want your torque!!!

Desperately need my full turbo back system now after reading your thread update about the remap..

Silver and red :p haha

It's just the 57i for the LCR, cold air feeds don't do anything unless it's for an enclosed system. I've been thinking about an enclosed system as found on Forge's Supercopa but it means a battery relocation, all good fun.

Have you got an G/S readings for the 57i mate? Must be doing it's job well.. The 57i would suit my bay and is cheap, only other filter I was thinking about is the Powertec but it's a tad pricey..
Cold air feeds can work, but I do understand they aren't pulling air towards the filter like an enclosed system would... But then you risk sucking up c**p..

Mmm Forge Supercopa enclosed system sounds nice, got a link? Battery relocation - you love it.

From my understanding...

There's that much air entering the engine bay that adding a small piece of tube in the path of where airflow will be moving anyway is a bit well... Inefficient. Stable air is better than turbulent air for a cone, laminate air and all that. It's reasonable to assume that a cones demands for air on the likes of the LCR will not be met by putting a bit of corrugated (turbulence again) pipework. Race cars I've seen rarely have the pipework there if they're running open cones (such as a Time Attack Evo I've seen).

Enclosed filters obviously are different as they take air from within a box, which needs a supply, which is why the likes of your twintake has a feed to the front etc etc.

I've not got any logs / flows. Not into any of that at the moment. Can't log with my liquid gauge and I'm not buying vag com to read logs etc. More interested in how it feels on the road. I'll keep an eye on my gauge next time I'm out in it and will throw some figures your way (if I can remember them  )

The supercopa airbox I've not got a link for, just photo's of it. I'd imagine it's a custom item from Forge
