Aye he was.
I can understand he's got a job to do. But there was no common sense with the bloke.
The bulbs were changed there and then (whilst they were flashing lol).
The tyres were next to where the test was being done and his colleague was waiting to fit them.
The number plate was fair enough, so I had a front one made up while the test was going on. I showed him the plate and he made me fit it before we left, which was taken off again as soon as he ok'd it lol.
He complained that the front wheels would not rotate freely, this was because he left the bar they use inside the car, pushing the brakes and stopping the wheels
We couldn't use the rollers for the brake tests, so we road tested it. Now... I drove and stamped the brakes, which allowed him to kiss the dash... nice
he asked me to pull the handbrake whilst moving, not something I normally do and pulled it too slowly, which was met with a "needs adjusting, let me try".
He pulled the handle to get out, and without releasing, really pulled it and tried to force the door open. He then explained "To pass the MOT, you need to be able to get out of the car from the inside, so it'll fail on that", I explained that it's got an anti hijack so you have to pull the handle twice. This was too complicated for the twunt and once who still grumbled about it.
He then got in the drivers seat, and stalled immediately
set off and pulled the handbrake as if he was going to do some Terry Grant specials
"oh, it does work" was his remark. No ****
I don't know whether it was because of my age, or the character of the car (he didn't know what it was when I arrived). But he just made everything really hard work and he was one of those types that would fail his own mothers car for a bulb (and make her replace it and book a retest no doubt!).
We had to explain to him that he couldn't fail it for the rear seat belts, as there were non fitted, (along with no seats, trim etc) but he thought that because the car came out of the factory with them in, they had to be there. Funnily enough, he didn't touch the spare wheel, or figure out
how to open a boot.
On a good note, getting the car on the ramps was a laugh as it was too low (another thing he grumbled about when measuring the floor to headlight (I assume?) clearance). He was an agency tester as well which explains alot lol.
I can confirm that a Full Blueflame Turbo Back system with a 100cell Cat will pass through the emissions as well (I made sure the CAT was nice and hot mind).
Ah well, all good fun!
