Shame about the show and shine, but if you've ever been to the big VAG shows throughout the year you'll notice the same people always win. Chin up, at least you had compliments on it from people face to face

If the wheels are done at edition i may nick my mates spacers and have some crazy 35mm spacers just for the crack

Lmao its fine people on a seat forum likeing it but loads of people look down on seats remember , A few people said why are you takeing pics of that heap its a seat..

Think the engine bay need sorted before edition , Need to sort my engine cover and spray it white or blue , Then find a battery cover as mines all on show and looks naff.. Spray that white / blue too But if im going with gold wheels possibly do gold engine bay?

Yeah white would be good i think too , Might be hard to keep clean? Dont think gold hoses exist tbh lol , Could do some gold detail on the engine cover , Like a gold small stripe down one side of the engine bay

Reckon your right with the gold stripe would look trick

lol ok mate il do my best mines nothin great mate looks alright in photos but in the flesh not the best.

what il do is il pm you the area im stayin in when i come up your way and can sort out a mini meet mate

spitfire performance do custom hoses think they can do colour you want too I am sure if you ask you can get some made up. Maybe better to go more subtle little bits of gold you don't want to look chav.

I've hit a wall , I can't get the wheels powdercoated and keep the lip on them .. So I don't really know what too do... I really don't want all gold wheels what can I do?

Looking at that MK3, it just doesn't work, colour of the rims is wrong completely, as you said must have been a friend of the judges!

Thing is with show and shine, its going to be full of show cars as its a show! At Edition38 the saturday is ten of the best, which is aimed more at dailys.

Aimez- the only car I've seen trailored to a VAG show was the rocco/corrado at edition last year which was a rolling shell! (no engine, interior, just shell with suspension and wheels!)

Both say the bakeing process cant keep the rim protected .. They said they can let me tape it with high temp tape and no responsibily will be taken for them if they run and i still have to pay.. Apparntly if the tape gets 1 tiny gap it will all spread and ruin the wheel...

Im quite annoyed at this fact as i want this done big time... I then asked if they could spray the wheel gold then respray the lip silver but apparantly when they bake the paint spreads everywhere so it wont work AGAIN! Stumped on what to do..

Just tape the wheel and spray the centres yourself? Easiest and cheapest option, if you rub them down it will be fine.

I'd do that if it were me and I wanted gold centers. Get down halfords haha or if you know someone with a spray gun I have half a tin of Aztec gold spray paint from a corsa c in my garage

And fair enough, they can do it then, just can't promise 100% perfect.

Thats not the way to powdercoat wheels with a polished lip.
You powdercoat the full wheel, then use a diamond tip machine to reface the lips, then they laquer them.
The wheel specialist or Spitnpolish both offer the service, but its not cheap.

Sensible way is to paint them. Even if you;re not keen, £150 should get it done by a pro
