I wouldn't even bother claiming on a car of that value TBH, will just mean he loses his NCB and his insurance will skyrocket, all they'll do is write it off and send him a cheque for a few hundred quid. His insurance will probably cost him more come renewal time than what they paid out!

yeah mate thats what im doing just cutting my losses unfortunatly shes going to have to be scrapped :'(, but then hopefully starting from scratch :)

Unlucky mate this isnt the first time i've seen this either unforunately. A mate in a metro did it but with out the impact and another friend did on some oil a farmer had dropped on the way out of a field. He wasn't so lucky and ended up in the hospital with a smashed ankle.

I really don't think a car owner should have to fork out if its a crash due to visible oil etc on the road or a problem with the road has caused the accident. Its very unfair. Hence why farmers etc don't care if they drop mud, oil etc.

Strip it down for the good parts if you can, and take the rolling shell to the crusher. at least you'll have a bit of start for your next car.

Says alot about the MK2's strength though, i bet if that was a french car of the same age you'd be writing this from a hospital bed.

yeah i totaly agree the little feller saved me :), but i know i dont think im even going to be able to get anything off it... was 170 quid to get it picked up off side the road and took to a salvage yard and il end up getting charged storage if i dont scrap it... everything in its pritty much smashed too  and then gotta pay 100 pound to keep the private plate on retention, so talking nearly 300 quid really till im back to square one. but i guess money aint important when i think what if tho lol

i had to as we were half way into taking the axle off and had to get it off the ramp quickly. unfortunately having a low car is taking its toll on my exhaust, it came off the cat converter!!!
