Ghetto Fabulous Air Feed

i had been meaning to move the AA badge on the grille across to the other side, it was blocking my puny air feed. I had to take the grille off to get the screws fastened behind it so I kept putting it off!

Anyway got around to it in the end, I think it's much better on the left - it's a bit like those guys who wear their earrings in the right ear, it's just not on.

Since I'd done that I decided to dig around and see what sort of air feed material I could come up with. Found some 56mm neoprene ducting and a bit of old drainpipe :D perfect.

slapped some black duct tape on there and job's a good un

5 days since an update, i'm really slacking.

When I gave the old girl a good wash on Sunday I realised that the plastic trim was fading again. I hate using that back to black wax stuff, it really is horrible. It only lasts a few weeks and turns your hands, clothes and the surrounding paint black too. Anyway, i did a bit of research and found out about Gtechniq C4, it's really expensive and in a really small bottle, but apparently it lasts for two years! I only bought it yesterday afternoon and it was at the door this morning, top service!

Cant wait to put that stuff on!

Also, I picked up some new Bosch wipers - actually difficult to find non-flat blade ones! I needed the old school traditional look of course ;) Anyway, they're on and work GREAT

And then yesterday morning I received my new dashboard panel with fangled new cigarette lighter! oh the luxury!

Getting there...

That C4 stuff looks amazing, been reading about it on detailingworld.com :D

expensive but when you think about the time and effort it takes to dress all the trim on cars and the mess it makes when it rains and leeches down the paint its more than worth it!

yeah, I found it through detailing world too. Used it last weekend, really great product.

I was shocked that such a small bottle did my entire car. When you look at the amount of plastic trim on the polo it really is like 20% of the car's surface area!

I didn't bother prepping all the trim with rubbing alcohol first like it tells you to, seemed like an areseache, but it went on really well and still looks like I only just finished doing it a week later. Even if it only lasts for 6 months I'll still use it again, but they claim it's good for 2 years!

Brilliant product.

nevaaaar muahhahahaaa

having said that, you will be given first refusal. :)

and yes, I'm sure she will remain old school styleeey

I just spent the last 5 hours paint stripping and polishing my roof rack with nothing but steel wool and autosol, my right arm is huge and I'm coughing up all sorts of gunk

looks nice and shiny now though :)

I'll take some pics of it all loaded up this weekend :D

Well yesterday my clutch started slipping, so since I'm off to RR Gathering tomorrow I thought I should get looking for someone who can fit me in sharpish!
As usual, Phil came to the rescue. I went down there this morning and he had this sitting there waiting for me

Once that was in (only took about 2 hours), I was pretty chuffed and after chatting to Phil he was having his bad influence on me as usual. Before I could go he had given me some new wheels to try on (he's not getting them back).

I then managed to get the cigarette lighter in the car AT LAST so that I can charge my phone this weekend Hoo-f'kin-raay.

So here she is sitting outside all ready to go with the newly polished roof rack on:

And I'm not joking about Phil not getting his wheels back, we have come to an agreement and he has kept my G60s and given me the clutch for nothing  She drives really nicely on the 14's, I'm dead chuffed.
