i put all the files on the cd, then booted up, but went into windows xp
when i went into the cd i clicked on the vag bat file. and VDS PRO was running in ms dos but within windows!
will it still work like this?

EDIT
found out it wont work through xp
and the cd is not working due to no usb cd drivers in dos
so i need an old laptop with a cd drive built in

I use a CD image, but it will fit on a floppy if you have a laptop with a floppy drive instead. You could even install DOS on the hard drive and copy the software on there, if you have no other use for the laptop.

Make sure the floppy and cdrom are given boot priority over the hard drive in your BIOS options.

Someone has compiled the VDS_PRO so it will load the interface automatically, and defaults to the right COM port options.

Works perfectly on mine with a cheapy ebay serial cable. :)

Auto Close Windows

Hi there. I'm new to this site. I've been reading about opening and closing the windows from the remote control. It seem's like a great idea, so much so i don't know why all cars just don't do it. I've read that i need a serial cable. This is my problem. i have no computer in the house that has a serial cable. Is there anyone who is able to do this for me? i don't mind driving too far. I live in Kent. The car is a 1.9 tdi sportrider.

One other thing i'd like to ask your gurus is this. my wife likes to drive the car sometimes and she has this annoying habit of driving with her seat belt off. Is there a way an audible beep can sound until she puts it back on?

Well, if you want to wander over to Wolverhampton I can sort it out for you. I'm just North of the M54 junction 1.

The success or failure does depend on the ECU that your car has, but we can give it a go. :)

I'm presuming from what I have read that this would work on my Mk4 2.0

Is there anyone in oxford interested in doing this for me?
