I can only agree with what has been said about it - you DO notice a difference and it does seem to stop the front feeling like it dives so much, the car seems to stop 'flatter' if that makes sense.

You can reuse your original pads though even though the caliper is a little different.

You can just see the spacer sitting to the right of the inner disc face.

this is something I would have done to Leona if I still had the ol girl, the rears always looked a bit small and even with ds2500s on the back the nose really dives when you're giving them some stick.

Cheers Martin, the LCR had the same rears as what Pat had done and I am getting done. However I am looking into getting the 280mm discs done if I can sure the spacer required.

o i c - I thought they looked bigger

tbh I dont understand why you'd use bigger discs without having bigger calipers/pads maybe I'm just being dense but I dont see the benefit. Is it because the caliper is mounted further from the centre of the wheel so more leverage?

This looks quite a good conversion, they use the 256mm rear callipers with a spacer bracket so you can fit a 280mm rear disc?

Can you use the Cupra R rear calipers or do they have to be TT ones? are they the same?

mine is the octavia vrs setup, which is the same part number as s3 and lcr I think. only ball ache was finding a good pad/disc combo in my case.

Depending on which you get, one needs a spacer and the other doesn't - think Mk1 Octavias are good to use too.

Fwd carriers bolt straight up. 4wd carriers require a 6mm spacer. And 4wd carriers also require a little milled out of the carrier where it sits over the disc. You have to be careful doing this or you'll go through the metal

Right R44MS K has really sorted me out today. I got Audi TT Quattro rear brakes for an even better price than the breakers, they even came with brake pads.

R32 steering wheel is coming in 2 weeks and whats brilliant also is my flip key is coming next week. I will actually be able to lock the car soon with a button again, oh the luxury.

I also had a little play with a Fiat Punto Abarth Essesse on the way to Tesco tonight all within speed limits of course. It was a brand new 10 plate and I don't think he knew what to make of what happened when he realised it was a dirty TDI. In power stakes there was no competition really and where I though the punto would have the edge was on roundabouts but that simply wasn't the case at all.

Reason for me saying the above is that its the first "true" time I really played without the TCS on with another car. Off the line in 1st going all the way to all the way to 4k and changing into second there was the slightest bit of wheel spin and squeal from tyres but I was shot off quite quickly. I would say I got around 95% of available power down to the road which shocked me. Normally there is plenty of wheel spin but tyres must have been sufficiently warmed up tonight. Just cant wait now to get the Toyo's on. Making me think I should try the car down santa pod sometime but I have quite a lot of mechanical sympathy for my car so not to sure...tempting...I will need talent first though!

Sounds like fun, you want to be going after bigger scalps in your beast though.
If you do go for Santa Pod good tyres with suitably adjusted pressures and stiff engine mounts are a must

Scalps?

I know engine mounts make a massive difference however on diesels the vibration you get back into the cabin is insane. Slick has vibratechniks and although its probably one of the best handling fwd cars I ever been in the vibration is always in your ear. I think probee still has standard engine mounts and managed a 13s 1/4 time.

come on what is the magic price for the R32 wheel

Link is broken. The ATE brakes are pretty savage Dan (think you been in my car before no?) so the 280mm rear brake conversion should work well.
