Dude, wow, this is getting better and better! Only you could have the balls to cut up a turbo, weld it again then fit it!

Keep it up :D

Keep it up ,

its not hard , long as u check which cast it is your fine;) this is cast steel with nickal content so welds fine , and useing 5mm high tensile spring steel , i know it wont break , turbo will fail first, has to be 100percent better then a china turbo , 2month and it gave away at 20psi ,, chuffing things there ok for useing as ash trays

I've never tried welding, but you never know, I could be better than you :p

one way to find out lol give it a blast , just make sure its the right cast before u attempt thow , otherwise it will look ok but crank and fall off , tips reheat and and hot , then get buzzing away and cool in sand ,,

I'm not too sure about this home made turbo part, it would be much better if you found the correct sized one in a scrappy or fleBay.

Please, Please, do not do what this guy on one forum to his turbo.

ok my new turbo arrived... no go coz everything was way off measurements etc. so I took off my old T3/T04e 57trim and welded 1/2 of the fins (not fully closed shut as you can see) on the hotside used to spool @ 3000rpm & get 5psi @4000rpm now only 2400rpm & get 5psi by 3500rpm.

way more torque(throttle response was amazing too) @ around 2000 rpm it feelz like my dads supercharged v8 now ^^.... weight increase by a total of 3.5grams (6 fins) + maybe 2-3 more grams from the stainless steel weld spots (pic was taken when finz had minimal weld spots). btw it has a bit of the whining sound when spooling ... I like it alot but letz see how long it'll last.

the other reason why i didnt use the small T3 turbo was coz the cold side was way too small(hotside A/R .48) about 3inchz smaller in diameter

another half assed job by copex below-

lol got to give the guy 10 out of 10 for trying ,, regards my turbo i wouldnt as far as chopping turbine fins due to balance and rpm they spin , regards mine they never made a gt40 turbo with a small exhust houseing due to most of these were on big engined vechicals , smallist ive seen is a ar.96 still too big for ripis spool

ps ive managed to blow my engine
i shoved the engine to 30psi of boost
well guys , ive managed to blow it ;) runing on ms2 standalone reached /28/30psi on stock internals ,;) very dangrous, but fun, runing my homemade custom gt40 turbo , removed the head this morning to mainly find one melted piston , which was no6 on the front bank ,few problems are this intake isnt suiltable airflow at high boost, so i think more modifying is needed to try inprove ,i also think ill change from ms2 to ms3 fully sequential fuelling and spark with a upgraded ecu ,
so looks like more fun to come ,,,,,,,,,,,:D
heres a pic
2ahsbhu.jpg

you,ll notice turbo is spot on , no play, spools with out any problems and the houseing is perfect as ive had this buggar glowing at 30psi
2zxmiqg.jpg

and theres no many stock vr6 attempting 30psi lol as you,ll see only one piston , rather chuffed tbh

very strange why only one piston went extra learn , no6 on the front row the rest havent got a mark on them , so i can only assume its a faulty injector or the intake , still ive not done bad to get 30psi flowing
