You'd need pistons, piston rings, head gasket to lower compression, cam, a super charger, pulley system, intercooler and maybe a new intake manifold and a mappable ecu to get the best from it.

Craig my 8'v's going nowhere fast i dont reckon so if it appeals to you when you have some cash put an offer in. A good little fun daily

It does sound tempted to try it. Ive wanted to try something different that no-one has tried.

I will keep that in mind about your 8v mate. Could be next year sometime that I start thinking of changing the car.

Well after an incident with a stupid pheasant. :censored: I have had to take the Fk badgeless grille off. I had to put the standard back on but before I did I did something different with the badge.

Those are the pictures before it was put back onto the car.

And here is the only picture I have of it back on the car.

Sorry about the quality, was taken on my mobile outside work the other day.

Now what to do next?!

Looks smart maybe next thing might be to loose the standard lights? Could go for morrettes, GTi lights or something else?

GTI twin lenses are a big improvement over the standard ones, always fancied modding morettes to have a smaller round indicator myself

Im having some real issues with the car at this moment. Changed the thermostat housing a few weekends ago along with new thermostat and coolant temp sensor and everything was fine until last weekend. The gauge doesnt sit at half way now at all.

Doesnt move, just stays in the white bit. If you let it idle it goes up to halfway but as soon as you start driving about 30-40 it just drops back down again, so thats a fix for the weekend.

Really thinking of getting rid of it. Could break it and sell for spares or sell as it is or put it back to standard.

Or I could keep it for a long term project?!

Its not really a big issue mate, it will be a temp sensor somewhere. The GTi does it occasionally it sits at 1/4 most of the time and only goes to half way in heavy traffic. It never over heats and the fant cuts in exactly when it should so i really wouldnt worry.

The MK3 totally broke and it was the temp sensor sender or something along those lines, cheap and easy fix.

I'd sell it as is, its a nice little motor and someones bound to want it.

So here are my first mods/changes of 2010. They are nothing much but I though I would still update the thread.

Fitted a bootlight from an 8v Gti.

Thanks to gtikezz for the parts for it.

Also since my MOT Ive had orange indicator bulbs which looked stupid behind the dark/smoked lenses.

Got another few things done today.

Re-painted the front badge as after the winter the white paint was starting to flake, went for gloss black this time.

And also fitted some stickers that Ive had sitting for a while.

Got 1 or 2 other things to do but after that Im stuck with what to do next. :bash:

While I was away on holiday my car was in the bodyshop getting a dent on the passenger side rear quarter fixed. Collected the Ibiza from the bodyshop today. Was only meant to be getting the door and rear quarter done but the guy at the bodyshop did the wing aswell so the whole passenger side is dent free :D and the colour match is really good.

.

And I know the rest of the car needs cleaned.

I lowered the rear coilovers slightly today, and in the pics it was done. Should I leave it as it is or raise it slightly??

Sometimes you look and it looks like the rear the lower than the front but other times it isnt

Next plans are 280mm brake set-up (hopefully) and start looking for a set of seats.

na that's fair enough mate
like ollieL always tries to pursuad me and brummy to run 195/40's but we can't

you could get away with 205/40's mate (you are running 205/45/16's right?)
that will make your wheels decrease by 15mm but i understand about potholes etc

well really i think you could get a 195/45/16's mate, i'm running that on 7J and 8J (the 8J does have stretch, the 7J is perfect :D)

eitherway, she looks stunning :D

still thinking of chequers? :p

Currently collecting bits/waiting for bits to arrive for my 280mm brake upgrade. Also need a set of front tyres.

Had lost interest in the car since the start of the year, but over the last few weeks I have got the interest back :D.

Next jobs to do are: 2 front tyres and my brake upgrade. 239mm's to 280mm's, induction kit and catch tank to fit, bonnet lifters to finsh, new hid kit to fit, maybe a re-design of my boot build, proper clean and clay etc then I may think of cleaning/tidying the engine bay up.

There are probably more but at this time I cant remember what they are

Been thinking of painting of some of the plastics so I started on the Strut Top Caps I have. Thought Id start on something smaller to start with and see how it goes.

Paints being used for the plastics
PaintsUsed.jpg

Hycote White Plastics Primer, Gloss Black and Clear Lacquer.

Tomorrow night I will crack on with putting the gloss black on. If it all goes successfully I have one or two other bits I fancy doing. :D.

hi guys new to this,
i seen how in your fotos you have twin back pipes is that a full exhaust system?

also i have noticed there is alot of contraversy as to what mk each ibiza is.. is the 99-02 a mk2 facelift or a mk3 and does the mk2 exxhaust fit the 99-02 as my 1.4 8v exhaust is falling to pieces..

i would very much appreciate any hlp that you can offer
