Leon 1P Vag-Com Cable ** Canbus OBD Diagnostics**

I've been following this thread since the beginning, seems that most of you have had success with the cable linked to in post #36 and V704.1

Thinking of buying this cable in the hope that it works with the later versions of the software

Finally got round to ordering the one in post #36, only decided I was going to get one 3 weeks ago! Hopefully be here in 3-4 weeks

Just make sure you are completely disconnected from the internet and you cant go wrong! Takes about 2 weeks from day of ordering for most to arrive.

Hello, looking to buy one of the cables as outlined in post 36. This is prob a really daft question, but what type of cable is it. I know it says Super 812.4 Dual-K & CAN USB VAG/ISO Interface Car Diagnostic Cable, is this the same as a HEX+CAN or Micro CAN cable. The reason I ask is I also have a Skoda Octavia Vrs Tdi (wifes car), and want to be able to use the same cable for both vehicles. Cheers in advance for any replies.

My cable came today, plugged it into the car, waited a while, plugged it into my laptop, loaded vag com 704 ......INTERFACE NOT FOUND.

Maybe it's because I haven't seen any USB drivers messages come up?

Where do the USB drivers come from?

Using 704.1 software, i plugged the cable into the car (with ignition on), wait 30secs, and plug it into the laptop. I think i left the minature CD in the laptop drive when using it first time. Maybe thats where mine got the drivers from?

I cant remember to be honest.

Ok it's working now, just need to sus out how the vag-com works and see if I can change some stuff.

I had a fault code for the alarm sensors and I have reset that.

I want to have a go at disabling the bulb failure thingy. Wish me luck..........

Been out already playing wtih the 0-60 measurement.

VCDS-8124 << working sweeeeeet

Reduced Coming Home lights to 20secs (down from 40)
Activated the Beep when Unlocking/Locking.
Auto Up and Down Windows with the Key Fob.
Boot now "pop's" open when the boot button is pressed on key fob.
Turned off the double click to open all doors. (That pissed me off!)

can't get auto up and down working

rest is fine

Ok, go to the page where you activated the auto up and down windows.
Now go back a page or two, and look for something along this lines of:

"Comfort Functions Via Key Fob Inactive"

You obviously want this un ticked, to make them active.

I made sure I was not connected to the internet.

I followed the vag com guide in the FAQ section and attempted to disable the cold bulb checking for my LED sidelights, changed the coding by just one digit and hit "DO IT" it came up with "this function requires a license interface"

after playing with this vag-com malarky and getting nowhere I now have the following problems.

no interior lights
no remote locking
no bluetooth
no radio
no heated seats

and my mileage display says TRA instead of numbers.

Do you reckon that a dealer will be able to see that I have plugged onto it?

BTW I have checked all fuses and they're ok.

Is your VCDS not like mine? i dont have to change any digits!

I just tick and untick the options and it changes the digits itself!

Im guessing you have incorrectly coded the module and its disabled it

just a quick guide
running a netbook (wifi disabled) windows 7 64bit
i recieved a black cable (can bus) purchased from the deals extreme website (2 weeks)
copied the files from the cd to the netbook (small files transfered via usb)
I started to use 704.1 First installed that and afterwards it will ask to install drivers installed (then connected the cable to the car (keys in car)
launch VCD... test = ok
now im using VCDS-8124 working fine everything is coding good so far
i been using this all offline.(just a note all the software is included in a mini cd no need to download software)

liking the beep function alot hehe!
