That noise is crazy! Were you driving over uneven ground? Are your ARB bush end stops still attached?

Right.

This is the knocking noise: http://www.vimeo.com/11147816

This was taken when in 1st gear rolling off clucth/brake etc... This is now a constant feature everytime in get in the bloody car! Annoying thing is nobody knows what it is! It isn't effecting the car either!

JESUS! I think one way of looking into it could be to get the front wheels off the ground (put it on axle stands, take the wheels off) put it in first, let it run and lie underneath it and see if you can hear more precisely where it's coming from...
That way you could put your hand on the gearbox/bottom of engine/driveshaft and feel if it is coming from any of these. - Obviously being carefull how you do this - I would wear "mechanics glove" in case I touch anything hot, also making sure I didn't put my hand anywhere that could potentially catch my fingers. I done this with my Clio and foud it was the CV joint as the rubber boot was intact it didn't have the appearance of being buggered.

Flat road, and in relativly good condition. To be honest with you, i'm nt sure about the ARB. The car has just had a service & MOT. Nothing was picked up. Since then the noise has got worse, and now even though nothing has failed I;m tempted to take it to Seat to see if they can help!

Thanks for the advise mate! I think that sounds like the best plan! I need to have a word with my mate (who has these facilities) and see when he is free.

The thing is now to noise is alot worse i'm sure after a little bit of digging a garage will be able to find the answer.

Thanks for all the help guys, i'll keep you posted!!

Your bush end stops should look like this

But from listening to your video again I'd put my money on a damaged CV joint as the noise is so constant. Running the car with the wheels off the ground will make it all clear anyway

Thanks for that! The garage said it could be the driveshaft, as it didn't look great. However that was a month ago. They couldn't be sure, and I didn't want to shell all that money out for it not to be fixed...

Right...

BIG thanks to Adam who had a look yesterday! Identified the drivers side outer driveshaft was fecked along with the CV joint on the passenger side.

Off to get quotes for the work now. At least I know what the issue finally is!

Top man Adam!
