Just been offered a set of APs for £230 7 months old, vgc, off a polo 9n 9so assume they will fit)

I would never fit wheels before lowering, standard cars with just a drop look good I think, however standard height cars with different wheels, do not!

well I learnt that from experience, just wish someone told me before, ah wells..yeah they should fit, check the AP site just to make sure though

Thats a good price that mate, what engine size did they come off though as front spring and damper rates might be different compared to the sets for heavier engines like ours :p

them fogs look mint. are you having them coilies??

Fogs now don't work again  So i'm going to pop it back in the garage on monday and ask them to fix it properly.

Got a message back from teh colilies chap, they were off a 1.2 9n polo, which as Scott said may cause some issues. I'm getting a few more pics and make/model so I can do a little more research!

Mine are off BradMoles Polo. Same part number as the Ibiza ones ;)

Interesting to know! What engine was the polo?

Starting to get annoyed with the radio now! Still in Safe mode. So I have done what Seat told me:
- Leave key in ignition and put radio on for upto 2 hours
It does go out of safe mode, but as soon as you turn the radio off it goes back to safe mode!! I'm going to get the code off Seat on Monday as well, so hopefully I can fix that.

Re: Ibiza 130 TDi Sport - 31st March - Barred

Radio now working :D Paid Seat £11.75 to get the code, then managed to get it out of safe mode. Job done!

Also I'm thinking this knocking noise is something to do with my clutch. Basically it happens when you depress the clutch or when you are slightly pressing the accelerator pedal/or coasting... I'm stumped (and so are 2 garages)

Could be the thrust bearing ... Sounds like the same stuff my mates Vectra used to do... Is it ever "tough" to get a gear sometimes?
Google "thrust bearing noise" and see if any of the symptoms others are getting relate to what you can feel.

Edit.. done some digging... taken from some other forums...

few things to test.
1. with car ticking over in neutral, do you hear the sound?
2. depress the clutch, does it go away?
If the noise is still there with the clutch depressed chances are that it is not the gearbox. (By depressing the clutch you disengage drive from the gearbox.) In this case the noise will be coming from the clutch, engine or exhaust area and you will have to get a mechanic to listen to the noise before starting to remove the gearbox.
If the noise disappears when the clutch is depressed, the noise will be coming from the release bearing in the clutch or the bearings in the gearbox. The gearbox will have to removed and tested. The clutch can also be inspected at this time for wear and tear and the release bearing checked.

Start the car with gearbox in neutral, foot OFF the clutch.
If you don't hear the noise depress the clutch, if you then hear the noise it's your clutch thrust bearing on it's way out.
If you decide to effect a repair (garage or DIY) then fit a new friction plate whilst the clutch is disassembled.
Unless you have run the car on very low oil for a prolonged period it is unlikely to be the gearbox itself that's the problem.

Top work :D Thanks for that!

However tried that but it doesn't look like the thrust bearing. Also never tough to get in gear!

Basically last October I had some clutch slip issues. I altered my driving a little and has been fine ever since (13,000 miles ago)

Anyway, around 1.5 months ago the noise started, initally very quite and got louder. Took it to garage who said gearbox is fine, but could be the driveshaft, as "they don't look very clever" Anyway they wee not sure so rather than shell out £400 I thought i'd just run it!

Now the noise has got worse again, however still no issues apart from the noise. When I had it serviced, I got another garage to take a look, they said they can't find anything and nothing was picked up on the MOT. They suggested it might be my springs as they are slighlty touching/corroded.

I know it isn't my springs and would be surprised if it was my driveshaft due to when the noise is occuring. Only think I can think is the clutch!

I'll try and get a video of the noise. Thing is I don't want to spend £400+ for it not to be fixed!!! Rather just let something go bang then replace
