Will be giving them a good polish and wax before they go on the car and hopefully I will have time this weekend to fit them. And then wait for some dry weather to test them out :)

Right after the problems I had with the R888's, I took them back and ordered a set of Kumho V70A in the medium compound.

And the differance in height of the Toyo's (205/55) compared to the Kumho's (205/45)

My Compo's after yet another respray this time powdercoated with a clear coat

Also had my strut brace powder coated in Satan Black

Car still looks great mate. Love the white against the kiwi.

Regarding the powdercoating, how do you mean a clear coat?? Just like a layer of laquer on the top?

Only reason I ask is that Im thinking of getting my Super T's done in black.

Yea it's basically a laquer, they call it a clear coat tho lol..... stops them from fading and turning yellowly.

What happened with the R888s?

Because they only make 205/55/16 there were too wide and hitting my coilovers so the alloys wouldn't fit the front and at the rear because of the higher profile the wheel was too big to fit under my arches lmao. Had to go for 16's because of my Brembo's.

Plus them what I've been reading the Kumho V70A's have had very good ratings and you can pick your compounds (soft, medium, hard) plus there is much better choices of sizes to pick from!

And they £30 cheaper per tyre compared to the R888's

Can you not run 195/50/16s? That's what I have on mine and they are fine. All be it they are different wheels you have on yours.

I wanted wider tyres than I had (195/45) They looked to skinny from behind lol. Plus these Kumho's are slightly better in the wet from what the reviews say.

Well the Ibiza is now at AH Fabrications to have the new rad made up along with some slimline fans :)

He said it might be ready by Friday so fair play to him but I will need to wire the fan myself which isn't a problem as it's just two wires off the oem feed :D

I'm sorry Dave :(

Re: Dinky Dave's Ibiza Cupra 16v Track Project - Now at AH Fabrications!

Collected my Ibiza from AH Fabrications Tuesday evening and had a few things to do this weekend before Castle Combe next week (Performance Car Action Day).

First on the list today was to fit my new OMP nylon gear knob, simple easy job to get in the mood

Then because I had the thermostat removed I went to put a new one in today but didn't know how much of a pain it was on the Ibiza..... Found out that I had to remove the power steering pump and mounting brackets, tbh what a stupid design lol.

Hello Thermostat housing

The Rad I had made up at AH Fabrications with Escort Cosworth size cores, lovely peace of work I got to say, along with a Spal Slimline fan which I had to wire up today to.

Hopefully this should keep my water temps under control now.

My little tidy battery was doing my head in because I always needed to use jump leads to start the car and after 24hrs of charging it still wouldn't turn over the engine so I got myself a bigger one. Odyssey Exterme Racing 30 battery, weight 4kgs more than the PC680 but has twice the power and twice the cycle life so should do the job! Had to get a new mounting bracket to and got it sprayed by a good mate; Matt at Spraytek!

And decided to remove my areial as I no longer have a radio in the car and the aerial made the car look like a remote control car since I removed the F2 spoiler.

Not sure if I'm happy with it yet tho because it reminds me of the shark fin ones that BMW's have.

Oh and get yourself an s2000 aerial, shorter and fatter, looks like some pikeys stolen it if you just leave the base there.

Re: Dinky Dave's Ibiza Cupra 16v Track Project - Now at AH Fabrications!

Well give you an idea going by the weight thread we have in the Mk2 section, even with the roll cage I have removed 85kgs in total and thats before I fitted the polycarb windows.

If you look back in this thread I started little, I did just remove the rear seats and spare wheel! But this isn't my daily driver no more and is more aimed towards track, of course stripping the car will increase your power to weight..... cheapest way to go faster! :)

But if you remove the weight from the back the rear end will step out under hard braking and wet weather, unless you have it corner weighted.
