Hi guys!!
I've been stuck on nights recently all by myself and to pass the time (after doing all my work of course) I've been tinkering with the LCR.
It all started when I decided to have a go de-baffling the charge pipe. Nice and easy I thought HAHA. Wrong! Had to spend 1/2hr with a chiselle and the biggest hammer I had to smash out the baffles.

Bashing out the baffles left a large hollow void so I rolled a sleeve from flat stainless to smooth the inside of the pipe and welded it into place. After welding it I ground the weld to smooth the finish before deciding what to do about painting.

I decided to coat the pipe in a heat resistant aircraft spec black paint however I got a little carried away after seeing some of the new Samco Hoses you can get. Hee!

I thought it'd blend nicely with the red Forge boost hose, but I'm very open to everyones opinion as I can just do it black again HAHA.
After that I moved on to the heat shield. I used to run a Neuspeed P-flo kit, but always thought the heat shield was a little small so I decided to make my own.
I started out with a cardboard mock up to get the size / shape how I want.

I then used the template and using 1mm thick ally I made the new heatshield complete with brackets.

Before I fitted it I used a red 45degree elbow and 80mm ally pipe joiner to move the filter closer to the arch and fixed rubber edge finishing to the heat shield to give a nice snug fit.

I'm happy with the results although I do now need to do the Plenum chamber black to match. Dont fancy pulling that off though HAHA.
Cheers for looking everyone Hee!

looks good dude, did you notice any performance gains with the debaffled charge pipe? i noticed more prominent whoosh sound but thats about it..

**sos off topic**
have you got custom code 1 or 2? i have CC1 but you have alot of torque. i would be well impressed with that. Was it on awesomes rollers?

Cheers matey. Diddn't notice any performance gains at all just hear the turbo spooling more which is nice Hee!
Its a Phase 1, works really well with the 3"dp and race cat though. A few people have commented on how torquey it is after driving it.
Had it on 3 different sets of rollers last year and the results were all different as expected haha. Awesome's read it at 279bhp 327ftlbs, RA Developments got 288bhp 323ftlbs and the rollers at Inters saw 290bhp 315ftlbs.
All very different due to different fuel and temps, but to be honest when do you get accurate readouts haha?
Wanna get Phase 2 soon but nobody can give me any ideas what to expect so not sure.
What setup are you running?
