Looking good Dan! I think I may do this with yellow tints of headlamp protectors...

Car is in for MOT and service today.

failed it's MOT on:
- Wrong colour sidelights
- Defective Wiper Blades
- Rear Fog lights not working

With advisories being:
- Front and rear discs are slightly pitted/lipped

So now I have the ordeal of changed my sidelights again when I get it back to the white LEDs, my poor poor hands!

Wiper blades i'm not surprised, as I put the bonnet up when the wipers were up... They didn;t work very well after that (new aero blades will cost me £21 which I can live with)

Still no deffinative answer about the knocking noise... so like I told them, wait till something goes pop!

nothing too bad then, so what was up with the sidelights then exactly?
Having the yellow tint is soooo cool, it's so rare, compared to normal and ultra white fantastical HID's. Plus you get an amazingly cool yellow light. Great thing is it hasn't changed the output of light at all. It's a bugger to get on though due to the curvature of the lights, hairdryer is your best friend :)

They are the little white LED ones, so are not legal I suspect. However Mr MOT man didn't have an issue with my HIDs...

They have also worked out that my fogs are broke, every time you put a new fuse it, it was blown, so put new bulbs in, now all fixed :D

All in all for a 90,000 mile service & MOT i'm happy, even get a free valet :)

Pick car up tomorrow morning!

You have normal bulbs then will? not HID?

didnt think the led side lights were a fail. easy enough to change though after you've had them out once. yellow headlights will look good against your black car and with hid's behind god knows what colour your lights will be... green maybe. p.s cheers for the comments on the car :)

Easy enough, just hurts the hands! Although I may put some tint on the side lights, see what they come out like!

Picked it up this morning.

New wipers are brilliant, so so much better quality than my ebay £5 ones. Brakes feel a lot better, great clean and valet as well!

Also the knocking noise they think is the springs, there are 3 or 4 coils touching, which could quite easily be creating the noise. Bloody pleased I didn't replace the driveshaft last month now! Think i'm going to leave it for a little bit, then seems a good excuse to get some coilovers when I find a good pair at the right price!

Only problem now... My radio doesn't work :( I didn;t realise until i got to work as I was talking to my dad on the journey! I'll try and reset it at lunch with the code. it is displaying the message "1000" So think I need to enter the code, and the hold Prog? I would take it back to garage, but i'm in Leicester and Garage is in Nottingham!

I'm in love with your car.. I cant believe the difference between the Mk3 and the Mk4.. So much more up to date... Those D90's look awesome.. I hope your terrible knocking noise is only your springs and not the Driveshaft..
Keep it up dude..

Cheers man! I was going to get a 110 MK3 sport but managed to find the extra and got a mk4, pleased I did really, although there is still something I like about a MK3! On the knocking i'm just ignoring it (which has just been made worse by the radio not working...) at least when something goes pop I know that is the issue!

I also know that the car needs coilies, I am told that most days buy my mates lol

to be honest you were clever to not get madly wide wheels before lowering, I look back now and think wtf? was i driving.....
Don't think it should be the top of your list either, only get them when you really have some spare money. Then get AP coilies :)

Just been offered a set of APs for £230 7 months old, vgc, off a polo 9n 9so assume they will fit)

I would never fit wheels before lowering, standard cars with just a drop look good I think, however standard height cars with different wheels, do not!
