I've seen the gold heat wrap that some people use to wrap their intake pipework and was wondering if it insulates aswell as reflects radiative heat.
I'd have thought the majority of the heat comes from convective heat transfer from the hot air under the bonnet rather than radiative heat transfer. Therefore insulation is a better method of preventing the intake air from heating up.
Also, anyone know what kind of length of heat wrap/insulation would be required to cover all the pipework (length based on a width)?
