Is snow foam and the snow lance really worth it?

Apart from it covering your car in foam, does it make more of a difference than just washing it?

I would say so?the snow foam is more for using as a pre wash to get all the crap of your car

Surely the jet washer on its own would get it off though?

I've never used a snow foam, was looking into getting one but after looking at the price and thinking whether or not would make much more difference i didnt see the point?

I got a snowfoam lance off my parents for Xmas and they are ideal for those winter months. Mine's the one from Auto Raechem which are always on Ebay.

Mine won't be used again until October time when the weather is poor. I prefer to use the two bucket method in the drier months.

I bought a lance and a bottle of snowfoam because loads of people were raving about them, I use it on a regular basis but it doesn't seem to pull as much dirt off the car as I thought it would. I normally go round the car twice with the foam, leave it to work for a few minutes then rinse off.

You should snow foam before pressure washing. Pressure washing will blast the grit across the surface of the paint, causing micro marring. Whether that bothers you or not is a different matter, but snow foam lifts big particles up away from the paintwork, rather than forcing it to run across the car.

exactly what i use ;)

on a weekly wash i'll have the dialled round at about 50% mixture so the foam clings to the car but is pretty much gone after 5 minutes or just over. If the car hasnt been cleaned for a couple of weeks then its dialled to about 75% and the foam will cling to the car for a good 10 minutes before i rinse it off.

if you look at the ground where the foam is falling from the car you should be able to see the dirt in the foam... a bit like dirty slush after its been snowing. if you are not seeing this then the mixture isnt working long enough on the car.

essentially the whole point of using snow foam, 2 buckets and wash mitts etc is to try and imflict the least amount of damage to the paint work as you can when cleaning it. the foam is used to remove as much of the heavy soiling as possible so that the wash stage is only removing the lighter contamination.

If you use the tank on the unit it will only pull the product through and mix it through the normal lance and not really produce the foam you are looking for or need.

You can buy a karcher foaming lance but they arent much better to be honest.

I've used a few and still ended up buying a dedicated foam lance for the Karcher

Simon,

Just send them a message via the ebay site and I'm sure they will confirm 100% that it will fit your machine.

Cheers
