Doh!

I wondered how I found it! :D

So it won't work? All I want to do is set the alarm beep up, set the lights to come on when I unlock it and weight the steering a bit more. Oh and to check faults.

Can't justify putting down 250 notes on a cable at the minute!

I don't know, I think ppl might be assuming it doesn't cause it's cheap... I'm the same positon and have the same needs as you mate. I want the alarm chirp and lights to come one. I had it on my mk5 golf I miss it. Also was thinking about steering weight, i noticed it felt light compared to past cars.

The company is from singapore so I imagine they won't be a a scam seller, they're pretty tough in singapore on law and a proud nation. So I imagine the product does what it says but might take a while to arrive.

haha, thanks guys. I want these features quick. Think I know someone round my way with vag-com so i might see if they'll have a mess about with it to get those features on. Can't be bothered waiting a month for delivery and just read some poor reviews on that seller saying it took forever to get the item or a refund! I'm not the most patient person you see.

Will the dealer not do it for you?

I haven't looked much further to be honest. I have a lot going out this month so really trying to hold back!

Me and the dealers don't really get on to put it's in a nice way. After refusing to fix a part on my last car and basically lying to me I got in touch with trading standards.... As there are no other seat dealers anywhere I'm stuck now And they will just charge the earth to do it

there are a few diagnostic specialist who will charge a fraction of the cost, I'm sure you can find one. Not too sure how you'd sort out the problems with the sat nav using vag com? wouldn't you need the codes and things?

Guys,

I bought the one that Knight recommended earlier in this topic.

It works great, however, there are a few things to note:

  • Version 805.0, supplied with the cable, did not work. I had to use 704.1 even though I bought an '805 Cable'. I got 704 from a well known site featuring a ship! ;)
  • Turn off your internet or add an entry to your hosts file to point the rosstech website to localhost. Ross Tech can send a signal to disable any 3rd party cables you see.
  • The '805 cable' is the most stable, so if you dont buy the one in this topic make sure it says its for version 805.

Any questions let me know

Cheers

I am guessing the site also features a bay, and some pirates?

So the cable, can you alter values? Can you see faults? Can you log?

Perhaps some screenshots?

Cheers!

myself and Sean Corky bought a China Special VCDS Cable and it works perfectly and performs all that 811.2 can do

Cost around £40-50 IIRC i carnt remember the link tho so maybe Sean can help

Super 812.4 Dual-K & CAN USB VAG/ISO

We got ours from DealExtreme, they no longer stock them from what i can see

Not sure about the sat Nav bit but You will be able to Make Adaptions and do a full error scan

Cool so basically we get the cable I initally found, discard the software supplied then find a bay that contains pirates who will be able to supply us with some pieces of 704?

Cool!

So we'd be able to change settings such as the alarm beep etc and then log live data too?
