you know you need the reflectors to work though?

I was planning on tinting mine at some point so i have two small red reflectors to stick to the bottom of the bumper lol

The reflectors do still work, relflected the light back from the torch on my phone anyway :)

But as I said before, will give it a proper test later when it gets dark just to double check I'm still legal ;)

A police car did pull up when I was fitting them though and didn't say anything! (although he did sound quite busy as he pulled up to ask if I'd seen someone in a black tracksuit with a blue hat run past )

 Not sure about the rear lights or the eyebrows mate. Sorry. Lights are a bit dark I think.

I love the lights :D (if they're legal!)

But I'm still not 100% sure on eyebrows, I kind of do really like them... but then I also have second thoughts about them!

Gonna leave everything on for a bit and see how I feel :)

Right, well just been outside to do my light test and...

Light output seems fine... but only got a very slight reflection back from the outer lights, and not the inner ones when I shone my torch on it.

Would this be a legal problem or not?

hmm best head to local MOT guy and ask them what they think

or ask an officer

Yeah I think I will double check with a garage, but guy I bought them from said car passed MOT with them on, so should be ok. But every MOT testing centre seems to interprit things differently I suppose.

What happens when someone crashes into the back of you then argues they couldn't see your brake lights?

I don't think insurance companys would like the very much :cartman:

Well you can see the lights perfectly fine (plus 3rd brake light isn't tinted is it? ;)), just reflectors may be an issue.

pic fail gordz:( was looking forward to this update actually

I'll try get some better photos with my girlfriend's DSLR. It does look better in the flesh... honest :)

Lol, you really enjoy the Marmite mods dont ya?

Not too keep on the latest edditions I'm affraid. Never thought the rear lights on the Leon were in need of changing.

Yup :p would be a boring thread if I didn't ;)

I keep looking out the window and think they look great... but then I look back to the photos I took and they look pants! lol.

With the adverse weather & with a long trip down to devon & then cornwall tomorrow, I want other road users be able to definitley see me and just generally be nice & safe on the way down, so I've removed the tinted lights & put my standard ones back on :)

Think lights are a bit dark, so gonna remove a few coats of the tint and then get them on when we have better weather closer to summer!

I like both to be honest though, think looks great with standard lights, but also great with tinted lights too! :D

Re: GORDZ's Platinum Grey Mk1 Leon TDI 110

Not posted an update here for a while so thought might as well say something!

Tinted rear lights are still off, going to completely re-do them myself over the summer so I just get a slight tint and not full on black! Or I may just sell them, I don't know yet. (anyone interested ;))

Eyebrows are still on as parked next to another Leon the other day and actually think mine looked better and meaner with them on, I like a mean looking car :p

Currently up to me eyes in final year research project work and assignments etc. so not really any time to do anything at the moment :(

I thought I'd do another little update, and it's some bad news, all plans of what I was going to do to my car has come to a complete stop :(

It's because if I get this job I'm trying for, I'd be getting a new company car, so would have to sell my beloved Leon

I just hope that 1. I get this perfect job, and 2. if I get to chose company car I want to try and push for a new Leon

Or if I don't get the job, I'll keep my car and just go modding mental on it as I'll have a free summer! lol.
