Thanks, i'm like a kid at Christmas at mo. Can't wait to get the car and have all the mods done to it.

Other mods I will be doing in the meantime are the Fabia rear wiper and 6000k HIDS.

Not sure if to go for a straight panel filter or induction kit........plenty time though to make my mind up.

So common Chris let me know your opinion. Be good to see what your thoughts are lcr vs tdi.

OK, here goes.

First thoughts of driving the LCR were.......wheres the bloody power then?

It's taken me 200 miles to get used to the difference in driving style of TDI vs Petrol. I've been so used to using such a short band of revs to get the TDI upto speed it's taken me a while to understand/get used to where the power is on a LCR.

The TDI was such a easy car to drive, mass amounts of torque on-tap which was almost instant. The LCR is very different, more actual driving needed to get the performance out of it. I do love the never ending RPM's that just pull, pull, pull...even just before redline the car motors on.

Other differences that are very noticble, the exhaust and engine movement. Everytime I came to a junction I thought it had stalled, so smooth on idle after the TDI rattling my fillings out. I'm so much happier hearing my exhaust over the engine.......i've been driving round freezing my butt off just so I can hear the exhaust rasping away.

Gearbox doesnt seem as nice as my old TDI, the LCR is not notchy don't get me wrong, infact it's a little too easy to select gear if that makes any sense. The TDI had more resistance when going through the gears which I liked - now this could either be because of the different clutch setup or because of the SACHS uprated clutch on the TDI or because i'm not used to not having the short-shift. I don't think its the SACHS because the OEM clutch and SACHS clutch were almost identical to use. I have a funny feeling its the short shift missing that makes it feel just too easy.

Ride is alot crashier on the LCR, I guess the shocks are alot older than the new Eibachs I had on the TDI, also the 18's on the LCR have lower profile tyres by quite a bit so this will contribute towards it feeling more crashier over bumps etc. Not as much rubber to soften the blow on these crappy UK so called roads.

I love the black roof lol, it makes the inside feel so much more...........nicer.

That's about it really. Just a waiting game now for my bits n bobs to turn up. :)

Cool, you just have to adjust to it and you will probably notice more differences. I think the map makes a massive difference to the car. You got a great list of mods coming so should be exciting few weeks for you.

Nice one Chris, can I recommend a good oil for you ;)

LOL

You seem to have sorted a very good list of mods, I'm surprised you've gone for the Powerflex DBM bush as this can be very harsh and cause moving off issues.
Also surprised you've gone for Powerflex ARB bushes, have you confirmed these will fit your new ARB?

Also can I recommend between a 20-25mm drop in ride height.

As said very nice car and looking like its gonna be very well specced very soon
