Hi all,

Am looking to take my 1.9tdi FR to stage2/3, but am unsure what turbo i would need as i would ideally like to find a reasonably priced one second hand.

There are K03, K03s, K04 - probably more!!

Which one would i need? Have had a quote from Jabba as they are near me and would like to go for a little less if possible!

Cheers

the ones that you;ve mentioned are the petrol ones, ideally you will need to get hold of the 150pd turbo as when taken to a stage 3 this is the one able to produce 240bhp

JabbaSport do 3 tuning stages for the PD130. Stage 1 and 2 use a hybrid PD150 turbo (the internals from the PD150 with the casing from the PD130) or Stage 3 which uses a different turbo.

http://www.jabbasport.com/pd_turbo.php

I emailed then about prices for each stage on Sunday taking into consideration that I already have the clutch, but they haven't got back to me yet. I'm saving up and heavily leaning towards Stage 2, Don't really want to go for the SMF and reckon that the price will increase loads for stage 3

People say why bother with stage two you may as well go stage 3 then they say with a stage 1 remap you will eventually need a clutch so go for stage 2! I am not sure what to do I always said I would not go stage 3 it scares me too much and don't even wanna think about the price. Dunno what I will do now as have to decide now.

ye i would say so! well its the max you could do with out blowing the turbo! the hybrid turbo just enables the mappers to max out the car and get full power out of it!

for a hybrid pd130 you should get between 210 or 220 bhp mayb more, mayb less! the torque should still be almost as high as the pd150 hybrid tho!

going hybrid finished the car off nicely and isnt too expensive once all the other work is done!!

aimez, i think the stage 3 you are on about is the stage 2 hybrid! it cost me about £3k to get mine done but i did alot of the work myself except the mapping! very expensive but makes the car completely different - gives lots of fast cars a shock!!!

Ah so there is a pd130 and a hybrid pd130 and they are different?

I would like to see if a good one comes up in the second hand market, but am clueless with what to look for! Next for me is some coilovers then if a hybrid is 3k!

pd160 is the same as the pd150 so can get them off the tdi cupra's.

its the hybrid pd150 that gives 240bhp (stage3)
and the hybrid pd130 gives 220bhp (stage 2+?)
custom remap on standard pd130 gives just under 180bhp
generic remap from 165 to 175

As soon as a map is on you'll need an uprated clutch sooner or later

Theres no point getting a hybrid pd130, as a hybrid pd150 turbo is only a little bit more, and can give more power and torque, and can achieve 240bhp with good map and around 380lbs ft torque, I'm currently doing mine at the moment, I've got the turbo already as TD had a special offer on a new md376, which is there name for a brand new pd150 hybrid. I'm now saving for a clutch, and remap. But insurance is due in May so may be a while yet, I'm still on standard power at the moment 130bhp, so when mines done will be like a totally different car, a big jump from 130 to 220-230, and a big wallop of torque! So i'd reccomend get a 150 hybrid, and just do it a bit at a time, mine won't be done till july -ish, and its annoying having the turbo just sitting here but all good things come to those who wait! I've started preparing car for hybrid since Septemer last year, you need audi 312 brakes, i did this first as i thought the standard ones can't cope with 130 bhp let alone 100 more, next I got pd 160 intake and green panel filter, followed by seat sport fmic and forge hoses, o and got cupra bumper while i was at it. I've got turbo now, just need clutch, then fit clutch and turbo, go and get it mapped at rs tuning, jobs a good un, but will probably need a few other things as well like new engine mounts and uprated dogbone, i would uprate engine mounts but can't find any!

Nice, thanks for all the help :)

Already have:

Sachs organic uprated clutch,
PD160 intake,
FMIC,
Miltek cat back,
audi tt front brakes,
green panel filter.

So all i really need is the turbo and a decat?

Cheers
