Frankly I have no clue right now, I'll tell you once I've done it lol

As you can see from the pic the grille is made for the facelift cupra bumper which doesn't have the air intake under the center grille and also has a different shaped center grille where the S badge sits. I'm guessing I can just cut away the bits that dont fit. As a last resort I might end up cutting the honeycomb bits out of it and replacing the slatted bits on my current one with them, buit like I say that's a last resort because I'd like to be able to put it back to standard if I want to without having to buy another stock one.

Just need to find the time and get an extra pair of hands to help me get the bumper off.

wow that sounded a bit Billy-no-mates

Been photoshopping this afternoon and thought it would be wrong of me not to post this pic from the last NoRice:

Shame it wasn't totally clean (was raining a bit) but I think it's come out well.

The ******* tax disc is up at the end of the month too, this car is financially RUINING me!

Should be nice to get the big service out of the way though.

Actually, it'd be nice to get some feedback from you lot about the waterpump.

Everyone says get the metal impellor, but I have a feeling that it may not be a great idea since if the metal one goes it'll take out the whole block.

I know metal will be stronger, but I am inclined to stick with the plastic one, it's been fine up till now (lighter too ;)).

What's everyone's view on this?

Imo go metal, the plastic seems to degrade very quickly if its failing from anything after 30,000m it could be falling apart much sooner. The metal might go and like you've said cause more damage but i doubt you will be the owner at that time and if you are you will know better and have done the cambelt and probably chucked another waterpump in at the same time. The cars modified so Id be interested in knowing what the big tuners fit as surely these cars run higher temps at the block atleast.

Just got the car back today after dropping it off on Thursday morning!

Two and a half days labour (don't ask) along with the parts including full synthetic oil, anti-freeze, pollen, fuel and oil filters, bad daddy spark plugs, cambelt kit, new water pump, tensioning roller, relay roller and gear oils.

After VAT it's cost me over £600 and also my tax disc runs out at the end of the month.

Bad times.

Hindsight is 20/20 - If I'd have gone somewhere like AmD their labour would have been three times as much but the job would have only taken a fraction of the time that it took my mate Bob and his lot. To be fair if I was a punter he said he would have charged waaay more as it took them fugging ages.

I think some of the quotes people have been getting on here are about half of what I ended up paying, but I'm not sure they got all of the same things done, I trust Bob and I know he did it all painstakingly properly, so I'm grudgingly happy at the end of the day if a bit skint.
