My previous trackday at snett oil temps were around 150'c, however this was measured at the oil filter housing.

I had my oil temp sensor at the filter housing and moved it to the sump when I got the pressure gauge the oil is ALOT cooler in the sump than the filter housing not sure where the best place is really.
Just so i understand regarding the battery, the + wire goes from the battery to the starter motor then to the box bit that used to sit on top of the battery and the - bolt to the chassis in the boot, sorry if you have been asked this a thousand times but i need to have it clear in my mind before i do the move.

cheers John :)
I think I've found the knocking noise, it wasn't just the sub-frame...the gearbox mount was loose where it bolts to the box! It is now properly torqued up and the knocking seems to have disappeared! There is still a strange grinding noise on hard acceleration off roundabouts so I think I'll stick that CV joint on when I'm at the parents house over xmas (Dad has a car lift :D).
Plans - possible water/meth, probably milltek cat back. But the car will be for sale this time next year as I plan to go snowboarding for a season after graduation if I can get a deferred graduate job.
Camera mount is by Hague - for sale here: http://www.cameragrip.co.uk/

Cheers for that Danny.
think i will ask Santa for 1. bit odd that noise cause it was from under the floor on the drivers side. and did sound like the sub frame moving about. least you got it sorted now. noise nearly free now.

Im looking in to water meth aswell, yea get a milltek on the back sound much better then.

Danny, if your DBM has been loose then theres a good chance you'll need to replace this as there is rubber mounts within the front mounting point that rip.
I did this:(

Hello mate! Loving the thread; you've done some tasty mods. Just a quick question for you: Do you have to fit your track-day wheels with spacers?
The reason I ask is I have just bought some Seat Sport/AP Racing calipers for my Ibiza and was wondering if there is much room behind the wheels for big brakes. I'm also running the Leon starfish style alloys (see below)

Yep, I put 15mm spacers on the front; I could probably get away with 10mm in heinsight! I now have 15mm spacers all round with both sets of wheels :)
