Great thread this - good to see someone tracking their LCR :).
Was very impressed with the Snetterton vid, I didn't realise when I was watching it that you had slicks on and was wondering how is was so composed and direct into the corners with no obvious understeer - the slicks and probably also the spacers increasing the track width at the front would appear to be a big improvement over road tyres - great driving too ;) I also liked the way that you regained most of the lead that some of the more exotic stuff gained in the straights, under braking - brave stuff there.

Thanks Stewbie; I really need to update this thread; I now have water/methanol injection allowing me to run 7.5 degree advanced timing equating to roughly 25bhp extra! Slicks do make a big different; with slicks, coilovers and spacers fitted I gained 6 seconds a lap at snett :)

The two piece brakes really do take a battering; and racing karts alot helps with the bravery thing!!

A great read Danny, it's nice to see people actually using their cars. You certainly seem to enjoy your car.

Quality videos too, keep up the good work!

AEM WMI Kit

James just asked me about my meth kit so I thought I'd just post my reply up here for all to see my installation tips/advice etc. I will post pics and logs soon!

I have the AEM kit from America (although I believe you can buy it here at a bit more expense). It has a progressive controller with: a input port for boost pressure(not separate boost sensor crap); built in level sensor for the tank and an error output wire that can be used with a solenoid to cut boost if you run out of meth. These features are extras on alot of kits but are standard with AEM.

I have the tank mounted where the battery used to be (my battery is in the boot and has been for ages); my pump is mounted on the offside intercooler bracket as I have a FMIC. Nozzle is tapped into the boost hose about 10cm before the throttle body used a self sealing boss from merlin motorsports.

I have set it to come in at 10psi boost and run to max of 22psi. To start with I ran pure water, this reduced my intake temps to 5-6 degrees celcius when on full boost. Next I ran 20% meth, with a 3 degree timing advance, since then I tried 4.5 degree on 20% and got no CFs. I am now running 30% meth with 99ron, 7.5 degree timing advance (~25bhp) with no CFs.

I will be trying 40% tomorrow and advancing to 9 and then 10.5 degrees.

At each stage I have logged and logged and logged to ensure my AFR is correct, I am not getting any CFs and my exhaust and intake temps are staying good. It is a procedure that requires time and patience to avoid blowing the engine up!

You also need to back off the fuelling to take account of the meth, keeping the AFR about 0.85. My fuelling is now at 96%.

It does now pull bloody hard and sound wicked, but it does use a lot of meth; 25mile thrash last night used over a litre of mix..! but I was constantly on boost..

Fantastic video Dan, very respectable time considering the traffic, weather etc...

Have you been before or is that your first time?

Thanks! I went last year but didn't do any dry laps! This year was the first time I have driven it in "dry" conditions! 18laps total now :)

Superb video. I'd have thrown the dead weight out and made them watch from the sidelines :) Some really good driving there.

I did go with just one passenger for one lap in the wet...ended up on full opposite lock looking out of the side window down a straight; I think the extra weight would have helped a lot on this occasion!

Still back home buddy; should be back in a couple of weeks. I am currently flowing over 220g/s at the MAF even with the OEM downpipe; which equates to ~280bhp without taking account of the WMI so I am happy enough with that at the moment! It isn't completely standard exhaust, no cats and no resonator box, just oem downpipe and backbox with a pipe linking them effectively :)
