Yeah I bought the first one I saw - I hadn't really been looking for an LCR, I went to the garage to test drive a Toyota Celica T-Sport. Saw the LCR and thought I might as well have a go since it was there and I'd considered them in the past. The guy said to take the LCR first as it was on the forecourt and it would take him a while to get the Celica out of the yard. After driving the LCR, the Celica just felt a bit linear, cramped inside (I'm 6ft 1in tall) and the steering was a bit twitchy.

Fell in love with the Cupra and the rest is history :)

I bought the first Leon i went to see.
Twas a 2005 TDi130 model in mint condition!

I owned a Mk2 TDI 90 Ibiza before, and also still have a Yamaha R1 (I love bikes more than cars!)

I had a golf m4 gti before my LCR so i knew exactly what i wanted basically the same feel as the golf but quicker and a bit more individual looking. Early on i tried an early cupra which was 5k and i hated it was a right dog. Decided to save till the LCR was in my price range. Id been searching here, pistonheads and autotrader untill i saw a nice car. The owner was on here so i did some snopping to see if he had any suspicious posts and luckily wasnt a massive poster and was no negative comments on the car. Sad but true as what if he had said there was a massive oil leak or turbo noise etc you really would want to know.

So I went to see it, a fairly high mileage LCR at 60k about 100miles away from me. Having owned the golf and a string of other VW's i knew pretty much what to look for but basically the condition was key on my list. On the day i went to view it i was there for probably 2 hours, I had a long look around for defects(body), had a test drive, checked all the oily bits and then receipts, guy selling seemed mature and responsible which i think is quite key, also only the one owner from new it gives you a good feeler on how its been treated. I went to think about it down a pub local to the owner for a quick chat with the girlfriend as i think its really important to mull it over especially when its a cash purchase. We were both really happy so headed back, knocked the guy down a few hundred quid and it was done. 10k and almost 2 years on im really happy other than the usual stone chips its had no major faults (touch wood) and just the usual mk4 platform problems which tend to be an easy fix.

I bought the first one I seen although I went elsewhere to view a silver one which had delivery miles but was silver and cheaper. So went back to SEAT for the Platinum one and said i'd buy it if he could match the price.

He did :)

Initially viewd 2 (pre facelift) with the intention of adding newer facelift skirts bumpers etc then after much deliberation and pros+cons lists bought my platinum 03. Within 6 months some b1tch reversed into the front end with a Land Rover, nearly wrote it off!

Brought the first l.c.r I looked at. Had been to test drive a local ctr the previous day and was waiting for my money when my mate pointed out a l.c.r for sale around the corner with revo remap, had a test drive and aa inspection, called the owner of the ctr and told him deal off, mate did me a massive favour. Previous cars newest to oldest=2oosx s14a, bmw e30 m3, mr2 turbo, fiesta rst, 205 gti 1.6,escort gti (crap), orion 1.6i ghia(crap), nova 1.3sr (when I was a wee chav)
