New wheels have been fitted:

Compomotive TH Mono 8x16 ET25 with 205/40 Yokohoma Parada Spec 2 tyres.

Will probably space the rears out a little more and lower the front, but need to roll the front arches before I can do that.

That looks pretty smart actually! I found the Yokohama Parada Spec 2 tyres pretty awful tbh!

Do you ever fancy visiting the Bristol VAG meet? Happens once a month on the last Thursday evening of the month. :)

Thanks. Yeh read a few reviews about the Parada Spec 2 tyres and apparently they're realy bad in the wet. As I live in Wales, I'm sure I'll find out sooner rather than later!:)

A friend of mine, David (red Ibiza FR), attends the bristol VAG meet. May tag along next time. Thanks for the invite.

Not sure about the new wheels mate... I am a big fan of the TT Comps. But if you're happy!

It's cool. Everyone is entitled to an opinion so thanks for the input. Fancied trying something different from the usual wheels seen on the MK4 Ibiza.

Thanks rob.

Ditto. I'm sure I've seen you about the place too...quite regular in the Pontardawe region.

Yeh I work part-time in the argos store whilst attending Swansea University. Will give a wave next time as I'm sure its you now haha.

Thanks man. It's much appreciated.

The TT comps....kurbed one wheel and decided to sell them on at a uber loss! Fancied something a little different as the TT comps seem to be a common wheel option for most mk4 Ibiza owners.

I was having my doubts after ordering but they fit and look okay. Just need to tweek a few things then I'll be happy with the look of the wheels.

After trying to fit my double-din for about 5 seconds.....I gave up and booked the car in with Lee at Sonic Frontiers and decided to upgrade the factory speakers whilst I was there.

So today the following items were fitted:
*JVC AVX820 Double-din
*Hertz 16.5cm two way coaxial speakers
*Focal 13cm components

As funds are running low at the moment after spending too much, the speakers are running straight from the headunit. An amplifier will be fitted at a later date in combination with a boot-build etc, once I save up enough moneyz.

Just a quick photograph of the double-din I had fitted the other day. Would include photographs of the new speakers but as they were fitted behind the original pannels, theres nothing special to show!

that looks brilliant.
ive been thinking of having a double DIN as well.
Lee's a great guy isn't he. He fitted morel front and rear speakers for me and insulated the doors. I had a slight vibration problem afterwards with the rear speaker, but he sorted that out straight away!
I might go and see him next week about fitting a head unit and sub as well. I need the boot space so will have to see what I can get. He does a bit of valeting as well so going to get a quote for some swirl removal as well I think.

It's quite strange that everytime we seem to pass eachother its on the same stretch of road.

Yeh the work Lee does is top quality and I'll be going back once I save enough money. I would seriously recommend a double-din as it fills the vacant space in the dash, but its a bit of a distraction trying to use it whilst driving!

Noticed all the cleaning products he had, thought it was slightly excessive for personal use haha.

You heading to any shows this year at all?

I'll querie him about detailing. Thanks for the heads-up.

I remember my friend Dave mentioning something about a vag meet this sunday. Yeh I'll probably pop along but only for a couple of minutes as I have to head into uni tomorrow.

If your attending I'll see you then.

EDIT: Won't be attending. Had to head into uni slightly earlier than expected!

12mm (6mm each side) spacers have been fitted to the rear axle along with the longer wheel bolts which gives the following fitment:
Front:8x16 ET25
Rear:8x16 ET19
16mm (8mm each side) would have been a better fit, but o well....I can live with it!

Just need to find time to remove the front arch lining and remove the helper spring from the coilovers to get it sitting a little better. Will upload pictures over the weekend.

Pictures? :ban:

What are you going to do with the front arch liners? I need to cut away at mine but if it's best to remove them completely then I guess I'll have to do that!

Saw your car at Ultimate Dubs by the way... looks so much better in the flesh than in pictures, wheels really suit :D

I'm pulling 7 hours shifts in uni at the moment so I'm missing out on daylight to take photographs.....my tan is also suffering haha! Will upload weeked- promise.

Yet to have a good look on the arch lining but I guess removing the whole thing shouldn't be too much work!

Cheers, was hoping to drop the front and do a few other stuff before UD but I've been pushed for time recently. Were you showing or car parking at UD?

I got a lift with a mate on the Vagowners stand outside. He has a red S3 on DZ exklusivs... also has an oops!! sticker on it at the moment since he met the back end of a van lol. I'm a uni student as well so I couldn't really afford the petrol there and back. I saved it for Gti Spring Festival at Santa Pod this weekend instead lol.

I'm only in my Foundation year at Uni, so the workload isn't too bad at all, certainly not 7hr shift bad ;)

I've found that the wheels only catch the arches in one place, so I don't know whether it would be worth removing the whole arch lining, or just cut away the offending area. Theres a hole in the area already from all the rubbing thats been going on, so at least I know exactly where to cut! :D
