Hi all, iv got a BMC CDA fitted iv heard on here that its not the best at its job, what kits would you recomend?

I thought that an enclosed kit would be better for inlet temps?

whats peoples thoughts?

BMCs filter is tiny tho and restrictive..
On an S3 I mapped earlier this year, its BMC held it back badly.. Changed for open cone JR filter and gained 15g/s of airflow!!

Leon Cupra R my spec listed below.

Forge Front Mount Intercooler
Forge Black Silicone Boost Pipes
Forge Recirculating Dump Valve with Forge coldside relocation kit
BMC CDA Carbon Induction Kit
Turbo back Blueflame Stainless Steel Exhaust & sports cat
REVO STAGE 2 Remap & SPS 3 Serial Port Switch

Are the Neuspeeds rated well?

whats is the EVOMS?

you have made me think harder about changing the BMC CDA now!

cheers

regarding EVOMS
http://www.evoms.com/Splash.asp?nav=home&now=2/22/2010+3:44:56+AM

vwvortex.com si full of evoms users more than satisfied with thei filters.
you can see also here a lot of Porsche 911 (BI)TURBO users with EVOMS on their cars with big turbo upgrades.

there are a little bit more expensive..but they are the best.

I see you have REVO software. ask them about the cars made with EVOMS filters (in ROMANIA there are o lot of 2.0 TFSI users with EVOMS and REVO)

an open cone filter and a heatshield bracket..
I fail to see how it can be the "best" or particularly different to the likes of JR or Green filters in airflow terms. Heatshield nice addition but...

probably the material, or i don't know. but fact is that it is considered better than BMC CDA.
i do not know about JR and green. and i/ve seen dyno plots with real increase of power. also a lot of my friends made vag-com logs and it showed a better flow and a better performance.

anyway, it was my personal advice, not a certain fact approved or authorized in any way :)

We use Pipercross filters on most of the cars that come in here. Good pricing and great flowing. No need to oil them either.

over a BMC, I think most other filters would outflow from what I saw and logged from the S3's BMC unit.. absolute crap..

I doubt there is any difference in flow between green,JR,K&N,PiperX, but filtration is also a factor, and I personally have not had good experience with foam filters ability toactually filter dust.

Save your money and just get something like a RAM AIR cone filter. Cheap simple and effective.
