Evening all,

Over the last 2 days I fitted a FMIC to my LCR, took it out today for first drive and all was well till i heard a big pop and lost all boost :(
Anyway got home and one of the silicone hose's and come off so i tightend the clamps again and went out. Again a hose came off with a pop - different one this time. So back home again bumper off and tightend all clamps. Third time lucky or not!
Any advice other than tighten the clamps more?

Are the ends of the alloys joiners beaded so the silicon pipes cannot slip over the? Also what type of clamps are you using?

I had this problem on my Delsol when I did a turbo conversion as the piping was all custom made, with flat ends (not flared). I ended up scarring the ends of the pipe with wire wool to roughen it for some grip, and used some sealant to bond the ends to the silicon. No more problems!

The pipes are smooth, the " I ended up scarring the ends of the pipe with wire wool to roughen it for some grip, and used some sealant to bond the ends to the silicon. No more problems!" sounds like a good idea

Wire wool would not be enough, i had to cut my pipes so i ended up using a heavy file to put deep scars in the alloy pipe almost like threads and touch wood they have not blown off yet.

You could always use an epoxy weld on them, you can buy that stuff in most DIY stores and it drys hard in 30min

I went with one from ebay in the end Core Size 590mm X 280mm X 76mm. Seems pretty good though didnt realise how big it was till it was on the car!

Jeepers, i bet you had hassle putting that on behind the crash bar, i went with the ToyoSport 550x225x64MM, it fits perfect and i am seeing good results when logging, one downside is it only has 57mm inlet/outlet
