Tom tom cradle - again

Heya..
So.. the update.. new car ordered.. prob another 2 months before i get it.. red 5dr sport...

Gave the chap the part number that was on the forums and its on the system as a 3rd party part - as a 'bracket' so I'm assuming its the right thing.. but now i dont know whether to look seriously at the new iphone and tomtom and cradle that they just announced.

I think that it may be very cool to have the ipod and satnav on one device (that I carry with me anyway) hooked into the aux and also has voice control.. wonder if the seat Bluetooth would cope with the voice dial?

TomTom V4 cradle now showing on V4 website

hi all - i just checked and it seems that there is now a bracket for the V4 listed on the Seat website.

Wondering though - the V4 ONE is the unit that is meant to work with the cradle but will the Tom Tom ONE IQ routes work in the mount - from the images they look the same size - anyone know anything about this?

Surely the bracket is compatible with all ONE V4 models?

Is it a CON

the tomtom option is starting to annoy me, now that I it appears that you have to have further expense in buying a cradle for a version of tom tom that is now defunct. We should
all complain to customer services, and insist that SEAT publish a list of current
TOMTOM models suitable for this opottion, if they do not then this option is CON that should be taken to a higher authority.:(

TomTom One (V4) and TomTom One IQ Routes (V5) mount module removes the need for wiring from your satellite navigation unit to the power outlet keeping your car looking stylish and tidy. The mount module will charge your satellite navigation and keep it secure on your dashboard.

http://www.seat.co.uk/generator/su/uk/SEAT/site/Service/original-accessories/main.html

When I got my car early Oct 09 the brochure/website referred to V4 and V5. When I contacted Customer Service to enquire if V5 was the same as IQ Routes they didn't know but the guy I spoke to said that he would find out.

In the meantime Tom Tom told me that there was no such thing as a V5 and so they couldn't confirm if this was the IQ Routes.

In the meantime Mr 'very keen and earnest' at Seat left several messages on my answerphone over several days saying that he was working on it but had no answer yet!

I went to Halfords in Bexhill and the guy said "V5 is the IQ Routes, honest!". I gambled and went to my dealer to order the plugin adapter. It came and it worked.
Then Mr 'very keen and earnest' at Seat phoned to confirm that V5 was indeed the IQ Routes and they were amending the published blurb to show this. So there you have it, it was all down to me........ or was it Halfords?

The whole thing is quite fiddly and the mini plugs and sockets are quite tricky to align but it usually goes together after a few words like :censored:

And yes, you get a removable unit to hide from prying eyes and no tell tale sticker mark on the window.
