Hey guys greetings from Holland !

i am fairly noob with seat leon cupra r engines (i drove honda's before this one)

so i was wondering what are the best upgrades u can do for the engine,

not so it wil be circuit ready but some very good upgrades for normal power extra's because it has a turbo, also i mean hardware not software upgradings like a chip.

i saw somewhere else at the forum that there is an intake hose thats better cuz it wont work so much? (not allowed to post links yet :headhurt: )

are there like any other things that are easy to put on and give better performance ?

thnx in advance...

turbo intake pipe.. they colapse under preasure

but like d.k said

remap (stg 2)
air filter either jetex cone or a panel filter
decent turbo back exhaust inc sports cat
forge 007p diverter valve (no blow off valves)
that alone should see about 280bhp

then you have options of bigger turbo (k04s / IHI vf34 / GT2871r )
FMIC

should see about 300 - 350bhp

i was told my car had the bigger turbo installed already

i dont know is it true that u can mount 2 types of audi S3 turbos on a LCR ?

because he said too that the motor management has been altered, but that it was not remapped (chipped)

and there was some other piping installed near the bottom of the engine on the intake side

dog bone mount ? what is that ?

the mount that stops the engine tipping backwards under intense acceleration - you either replace it with an EIP unit (there are others), or just replace the rubber bushes for poly ones (see below):

means you can actually transfer the power you have to the road rather than the TCS light constantly flickering on/off

the turbos are the same on S3's and LCR's they are both K04

sounds like the remap has already been done and the tip for that matter..

do you have any pics of engine bay ?

more than likelly if the previous owner has gone to the trouble of remap and tip then it should have a diverter valve already

ok so it seems you are aware of the remap side of things.
Hardware wise, the engines are good for 300bhp, although with the standard turbo you wont get to that.
So if you are planning on using the stock turbo then any upgrades will be bolt on parts.

It really depends how much you want to spend.
Most i think would say something along these lines.
turbo inlet pipe.
new dv. (reliability).
Front mount intercooler
sports cat, exhaust downpipe

Everyone is different, but id say go the remap route and dont spend much more on power, but instead on handling. You get an excellent gain with a remap, after which the gain become expensive.

Hi i was also lookin to get some power gains, but also not sure which route to take....

My 03 plate cupra R has already been re mapped to 265bhp, its also kitted out with a miltek cat back exhaust, 007 forge DV, short gear shifter kit, and a samco hose kit. As it it its a fairly rapid car, but again i want more power!

Ive been looking around and seen that i can go for the bigger turbo option with a FMIC and stage 2 revo remap...... or just a sports cat with stage 2 remap being the other option. Money aint the problem, its just whether id get much more power difference from the 2 options and also trying to get 300bhp + down on the road as its a FWD car. Has any one got any suggestions?

Cheers Jay

If you are going to go big turbo you will want new rods in the engine to keep things safe - this can be expensive £1k+... With a ATB differential fitted (around £1200 fitted) you will be able to put the power down better, but it will still be fwd and spin up a lot!

Fair one then, so ill still be going through rubber at a high rate of knots then.... may i ask if money wasnt such a problem, would you go for the bigger turbo option or just go for stage 2 remap etc.
