Your right Dave, I was lucky. I set it about half way to start with and that was circa 1 Bar. A few little adjustments and its circa 1.5-1.55 Bar now. Just need to log ot to confirm :)

What dou you think of the logs on the previous page, Dave?

You going to stop by in Crewe on Sat if you get there at a good time?

What does your new toy do Damo? Is it a boost controller? How does it work exactly?

Its a Manual Boost Controller, Mike. It replaces the N75 and controlles boost much better then it too.

It should hopefully allow me to hold a little more boost higher up the rev range :)

What mat's are those dude.
I wore my heel area out on my Old Ibiza mats.

Just cheapo Ripspeed ones from Halfords mate. I like them because of the little kick plate they have on the drivers mat, stops you putting a hole in them un 2 months ;)

Damo - how much, roughly, is the MBC? Any reason for that particular one over others?

I'm toying with the idea of getting one to test my dodgy boost issues, may use it permanently if it's not going to throw fault codes etc (leave the N75 electrically connected etc)

I chose this one Clicky as I know a few people on here use them with very good results.

Yes N75 still electricaly plugged in but MBC only controlling boost.

the car looks amazing (as usually)
good luck with the interview too mate!!

the MBC is not going to impress you. It will maintain a little more boost but make sure you log your ignition timing and your Lambda Factor (blocks 03-20-31).
I have used the boostvalve version MBC and I was convinced that N75 worked better as the car was also not as good in high rpms.

try it out a little bit and compare its function to N75

Hi Mavras, thanks, mate :)

I'm only realy looking to hold a little more boost higher up the rev range. Hopefully I can get some logging done tomorrow night.

Damo id drop the timing back further when doing a track day, more timing might increase det which equals high egts.

I always knock mine back a few degrees for track days to be safe and to keep the AIT's down to a minmum as the car runs crazy hot compared to road logging.

Id be happier seeing 2's at the max. in a 4th gear.

Cheers Phil.

I was planning on running it @ 1.5' (currently running @ 2.25') with octane booster.

Not realy planning on going all out at the track day too as its my first time

Just been out to try and get some logging done but its to dangerous due to very heavy fog and light rain :(

Turned timing down to +1.5' and set boost a little better. Will just have to leave it like this for the track day......

Well, its been a very good weekend. First I went for a interview on Friday and was offered the job before I left the building :D Then straight down to Crewe for a over night stay before Oulton Park track day on Sat.

Sat morning was very icey and VERY fogy which restricted the time the track was open. All in I think I done about 18-20 laps in 3 sesions, all 3 sesions cut short due to the red flag coming out because of people either blowing up or falling off the track....

The car was faultles all day. I struggled for grip coming out of the corners, a combination to poor front tyres and a greasy track. The sun came out for the first sesion after lunch and there was lots more grip. I done circa 8 very hot laps in theis sesion and pushed the car very hard, so hard that once I came in the brakes were nearly on fire. Smoke was coming through the air vents so I had to drive round the paddock to cool them down. They was no brake fade at all and the pedal was still very strong, so they must have been on the limit.....

Here are some pics from the circuit..

Looking good! The car is almost as dirty as mine atm :p
btw, which interface did you use for Lemmiwinks / Unisettings? I logged my knock sensors the other day, 0.0 all the way through, but it's a china interface of some sort. Works just fine with VAGcom 704 and older, but Unisettings can't communicate with the ECU, so no adation channel modss for me :(
