At a rough guess I would say 10mm. I guess I wion't know unless I get them on the car... and I'm a bit reluctant to do that now. I might have to get under the car (as it is) and measure from where the calipers bolt on to the suspension and then to the inside edge of the wheel (for a bit more accuracy.)
They are wide and bl00dy heavy too!

if you fitted the seat sport calipers you wouldnt regret it there awesome brakes.
ive just measured from the outside edge of my disc to the outside edge of the calliper which is about 60mms,so if im right in thinking your standard discs are the same width as the cupra discs that should help you out i also measured the gap between the calliper and the wheel which is about 4mm.

Just measured..... 50mm between disc and inside edge of spokes. Need to find approx 10mm + clearance room from somewhere (total 15mm-ish?)!

The TT 312mm calipers don't have a "pot" on the outside of the caliper do they? The width of the Cupra caliper is to fit in two "pots" on the wheel side!
I thought the TT 312mm set-up would fit behind most 16" and 17" alloys on the Ibiza. No spacers required then!

They dont have the pot sticking out the outside of the calipers no - they do fit behind standard 16 or 17 inch wheels! Which is always good. Got plenty of room behind mine with them on!

Would it be that noticeable with a decent disc and pad set-up though?

The AP calipers do look sweet, its just they are too wide for my wheels unless I get spacers.... and folks on here have said that's a no-no!

To be honest I dont think you'd notice a difference day to day driving, even if you did drive it hard! And even the AP and LCR Brembo's aren't AMAZING on track days either, even they can fade. They're more of a fast road setup than a race setup. Not that you need a race setup!!

I'd say everyday driving, there's nothing in it between the 312's and AP's. Plus, pads are cheaper for the 312's as I think they're different to the AP's?

Sounds drastic... you can't space the calipers can you? The disc sits central in the caliper and you can't move that backwards...

I would have thought it'd be a great improvement if you got uprated discs and pads, however, I'm no expert on TT brakes lol.

If I was in your situation, I'd keep hold of the AP's and get looking for a set of wheels to accomodate them. Having said that, you've done such a good job on refurbing your wheels that it'd be a shame to disregard them for a set of brakes.

no thats true as pistons on one side would travel further,im sure there will be plenty of offers if you sell them will be a shame if you do.

Absolutely, I can see you point of you, and I agree whichever way you go lol The Leon starfish alloys are still one of my fav designs on a Mk4 Ibiza.

Mmm, grimy Nothing a good clean up wouldnt sort, they don't look to have faded much either which they are prone to do.

Yeah, gave them a quick run over with a damp cloth, but a bit of brake cleaner would get them looking great!

strut brace adds some colour to the engine bay and looks good, but im still not sure what difference it makes to handling - please elighten a newbie!

Strut brace just firms it up a bit at the front and stops the tops of the suspension mounts flexing too much. I did notice a difference when I put it on (my first mod in fact...) but it is hard to describe.

hmmm my car seems to roll a bit when tearing around corners - i read somewhere about ibizas being 'over-sprung' and 'under-damped' - funny how i can go over a speedbump and shatter my spine but go around a corner and make the wing mirror kiss the road...
i am hoping to get some fairly cheap mods to try and sort it or at least the ride a bit better so i dont feel like am going to roll the car over - how much could i roughly get the strut brace for, and what is your opinion on rear ARB (cost, improvements and difficulty to fit)?

Rear ARB is a amazing mod for reducing roll. Handling mods I have done are: front strut brace, RARB and spacers on the back too! Makes a big difference. All very easy to fit and easily DIY mods.

Mate, I'm 31 and am only just about getting to the stage where I can enjoy spending a bit on mods. All of the things I have done have been fairly cheap and spread over the last two years! One day you will be in the same position... I'm going to be a daddy for the first time in April and most of my spending will stop. Might be able to sneak some past the wife....

I think i've kind of missed the moment here but:

those cupra brakes will be way more powerful than the TT's. It's all to do with total braking area and the size of things being pushed (long stick vs short stick to move the rock analogy)

I wish I had measured the hub fixing spacing on the scooby calipers I've just done as they have the same braking surface as the cupra's but are much much thinner. £130 each new too.

Anyone looked into Wilwoods? about £75+VAT last i looked
