Remap done, quite surprised. What next?

Well I decided to get a remep as something to try.

So I went to a place in York (JJB Motors) and got a remap done. I wasn't expecting a marked difference. But I am quite surprised. It is significantly better pickup from 1800rpm. The car now pulls a lot harder from the bottom end through.

The engine is the 180bhp turbo.

I am just wondering what to get on with next. The guy at the garage mentioned lots of possibilities, some being a Gt28rs? turbo, Injectors, Fuel Pump, Miltek exhaust.

I was thinking of starting with helping with stopping power first, then unsure where to go.

So all pointers greatfully received. I am normally a bit of a jap fanboy, so know lots about Toyota engines. This whole Front Wheel Drive Euro car is a bit new to me.
 
As with even toyota's! You can go as far as your money will take you! My mate owned the ex-Fensport GT4 660bhp, and my other mate built his own 486bhp GT4, I had a somewhat lesser powered GlanzaV running about 190bhp (but that was more fun I reckon!) so I have fond memories of Jap Cars!


I've found bang for buck you can't beat a re-map, then going stage 2 (differs from place to place: Exhaust, Filter, 007P, TIP) will only get you another 20-30bhp for ~£1500, after that you're talking big Turbo time and big bucks!

If your looking for stopping power the most common upgrade would be either the LCR 4 pot Brembo's which come up on ebay alot expect to pay about £500 for the full set up, calipers, carriers, discs,pads and pipe brackets then the brake pipes from the dealers, the other option is the porsche 4 or 6 pot set up about the same as the brembo's cost wise for the 4 pot more for the 6.
There is loads on brakes on here just use the search function.

Miltek exhaust and forge TIP!.. both brilliant and work well together.

MrBen2k7 suggested an air filter... how bout induction?... mine's now located behind the fog light hole.. sounds and works well.. watch out for puddles though.

By air filter, I should of said;

Air induction upgrade...

Pannel filter
Open cone filter
Cold air feed...

Something along those lines... avoid K&N, they have been known to break you MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor.

oh okie dokie... some people say leaving the original air box and upgrading the panel filter, and maybe drilling and "smoothing" the box is better? I love the sound of the induction though... I had a K&N on my old golf seemed fine. got a Forge one on the cupra now.

Tbh, i think this is a load of cack. Personally, i think that it's when people clean them, they over oil the filter upon refitting, hence more oil getting into, or travelling through, the maf

I think a lot of people get scared by these stories, and just avoid them. I would be happy to use a k+n if the jetex filter available were not so damn cheap :D

I have a green cotton dyna twist induction kit and it makes a difference... feals slightly better in the higher rev range and for some reason has significantly reduced turbo lag to virtually nothing.

Do they do a TIP for the AUQ 180hp??? If so where can i get one

in time yet will grow fond of this site and in the same breath hate it for spending all your money lol. I hear the next big thing after a map is a fmic, downpipe/decat, tip. If money is a issue have a browse through the for sale section

Me to......thats why i went and bought one! :)

No problems yet but its still early days!

Thats a good list to be on with. Plenty of ideas depending on your budget.
