Right...this is not a chavvy post.

Ive recently got blueflame de-cat and milltek cat back system on my car but since ive had it on ive not had one single pop or bang.

Now im worrying that its runing lean. anyone else have a de-cat or anything with no pops etc..?

Backfires need quite a specific set of circumstances to occur, it may be that you've just not got the right set up. My V5 Toledo pops when I'm changing gear at full revs, and it is absolutely bog standard with the standard exhaust. I suspect that when I get the exhaust sorted one of the first things I'll hear will be those pops.

I doubt the AMD Stage 1 would have left you with a lean running car, if anything it would have been enriched from standard as standard maps are all about the fuel efficiency and emissions.

most popping is lean condition

Not true, popping can occur from overfuelling.

Key word was most ;)

Mine pops and flames but only on overrun and when traction control kicks in.

I know it's cool for it to happen but ideally you don't want it to as it's fuel that's being wasted. Less fuel going down the exhaust, more that's being burned so more efficiency and more power from a better tuned car.

See my rolling road video at the bottom of my readers ride first post, on the 2nd run big flame on overrun ;)

What exhaust set ups are you running?

Decat then straighthrough to a small rear box?

Aha, gotcha! [B)]

It's interesting that you get the popping with traction control, does that mean the SEAT version of TC works on the car ignition?

I'm not sure what it runs on, I would expect so... Bill can you confirm?

I've got a Scorpian cat back exhaust (which has a small silencer in middle but not much larger than the pipe itself) then it has quite a large rear silencer. I have a THS downpipe on mine.

why not do some logging, instead of presuming by the lack of musical tone from your exhaust that its running lean?

Im going to give it a go but ive only got the shareware version of vag-com so not sure if i will be able to run the correct blocks on it.?

Ok...wouldnt of thought that..hows that work then.?

I was thinking more possible being that the maf reading is low or injector performance is down so maybe not getting as much fuel as it should.

3" to 2.5" de-cat, then 2.5" straight through to milltek back box...

Blueflame turbo back on mine with a sports cat. I get popping and banging, more so whenthe car is cold and on lift off. Very addictive sound!
